iirc last season was the opposite. like no one shot 3s well against them

yeah their scheme gives up a lot of 3s and mostly teams didnt make them last year

they were a real good defensive team but adding kemba and fournier to the mix prob hasnt helped

and theres always the thibs cycle to consider

just looked last year they were first in opponent 3pt% at 34% this year theyre 26th at 38% and theyre giving up the second most attempts where last year they were 10th

winning formula

overall defense has gone from 3rd to 26th

knicks need kemba to become a semblance of his former self so hey don’t have to rely on barrett to score 20+ to compete offensively

i am familiar with this practice lol

i suspect you cant have a starting backcourt of kemba + fournier and be a good defensive team, just too weak at the point of attack, bringing fournier off the bench makes sense except im not sure they really have the roster to make it work since rose is already playing that role its just hard to avoid a lot of minutes with two of kemba fournier rose playing

think it might be time for the knicks to make a panic trade, lets get back to the old ways

kemba might be cooked and that sucks

yeah i mean he made the allstar team his first season in boston and has basically been injured since then, hes 31 years old and short with a game that relies on quickness

celtics gave up a 1st to get al horf back and then the thunder immediately bought kemba out where you mightve thought theyd try to rehab him and see if anyone was interested around the trade deadline

was weird when everyone decided the knicks getting kemba was some kind of coup as opposed to "maybe possibly we can get something from this guy"

another assumption was that the knicks could afford to trade some defense for offense when in fact these changes may have broken their scheme to a much greater degree

taking an $8m flier on kemba is not a terrible risk but it was pretty clear based on the celtics and thunders actions that hes cooked, and yeah the roster construction is not looking totally great overall

nerlens noel has been out for a while & they basically only have one center, prob not helping things on the defensive end

they’re 7-5 rn which is good for 6/7th in the east. last year they played way over their heads and this year are likely gonna have trouble being in the top 6 and instead will be in the morass of teams fighting for the play in spots, not a very surprising turn of events at the end of the day

McGowan getting out before things turn really ugly in the front office (it's already ugly on the court tbh) doesn't mean he's complicit, but I guess we'll see.

McGowan told The Oregonian/Oregon Live’s John Canzano that he officially resigned on Nov. 1 and that his contract was up. McGowan plans to pursue other opportunities.
