Man, this rundown a redditor provided on what their QAnon crazed uncle believes is a goldmine:

I have an uncle who is deep into this Q bullshit, and he gives me all the "inside" info with all the fervor of a religious zealot giving a conversion sales pitch.

This is basically what it boils down to:

If there's a celebrity you think is dead, you're wrong. Their deaths were faked and they've all been working behind the scenes with Trump to outwit the Deep State.

The celebrities whose deaths have been faked:

Elvis, JFK Jr., Princess Diana, Paul Walker, Robin Williams, and I forget the rest but it was a long list.

If there's a celebrity you think is alive, you're wrong about that, too! All the major Hollywood actors and popular musicians who are supposedly still alive, have all been secretly executed after being tried and found guilty of treason in top secret military tribunals.

The one who are still releasing new movies or making appearances on talk shows? That's all CGI fakery.

The celebrities who have secretly been executed:

Barack and Michelle ("Michael") Obama, Joe and Jill and Hunter Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin. It's basically any celebrity who has ever spoken out against the Republican party or Trump specifically.

The only one celebrity who has been tried and not executed is Taylor Swift. She was granted mercy and given a life sentence instead, and she's currently housed in a federal prison. Betcha didn't know that!

Honestly that's not even the craziest shit. Here are some other top secret things he's let me in on:

England banned fox hunting a number of years ago, and since then the royals have resorted to hunting small children. Trump had Queen Elizabeth assassinated to put a stop to this.

That container ship that got stuck in the Panama Canal back in March? The containers were filled with 2500 children who were being trafficked through international waters. These children had been locked in these containers since birth, kept in darkness so long that they can't even come out into the sunlight now or they'd burst into flames like vampires.

George HW Bush was not an American citizen. He was a Nazi spy who came to the US when he was 14 years old and spent his life infiltrating the highest levels of our government. He was also an evil scientist and the one who pioneered the harvesting of adrenochrome from children's pituitary glands, and to that end, he was personally responsible for the murders of thousand of children.

He asked if I'd heard about the Air Force recently doing maneuvers off the coast of Florida and breaking the sound barrier. I said no. He said, well, that was just a cover for another top secret mission. He alleged that there was an undersea tunnel connecting Cuba to Florida, and that this tunnel was being used to smuggle in children for sex trafficking as well as illegal Communist immigrants. The explosions people heard, which were blamed on jets breaking the sound barrier? It was actually the sound of Trump's Space Force space laser being used to blow up that tunnel.

Believable. Well, the first part anyway. I think Barbara was probably the child murderer in the family.

Still can't determine whether this is mental illness or mental illness cosplay. Probably a little from both columns, I guess.

Reading about the crazy uncle, it appears that this thing now has a life well beyond the actual Q missives on 4CHAN or wherever it was - he might have hinted at JFK Jr. ('part of the plan') but not Elvis or Robin Williams. They created a monster that doesn't need the creator anymore, it survives on faith and wild rumors.

Andy the Grasshopper, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:25 (two years ago) link

i hope it doesn't feed on your friends and family. but if it does, you will come to know the horrible feeling that is "losing, getting trounced, getting your ass kicked, by something that is extremely dumb and wrong". it is a special kind of sensation, to know that not only does your family believe these incredibly dumb things, but also that they've chosen it over their own family. it's like getting beaten in chess by a 4-year-old

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:30 (two years ago) link

Behavior that - to us - looks like "believing in these incredibly dumb things" includes "acting AS IF we believe in these incredibly dumb things" because (in the minds of those so disposed) it TRIGGERS the LIBTARDS and the OWNS the SNOWFLAKES we are presumed to be. And is therefore presumed to be some kind of twisted victory, to be heralded and sung of as a glory to the gods.

Is what I'm saying.

If you peep into greatawakening.win and patriots.win and of course my longtime hatereading nemeses at ace.mu.nu, you will see precisely this attitude: tongue-in-cheek, always a little bit deniable, "wow we trolled u," "gee, we must be OVER THE TARGET." "wow you're SO TRIGGERED," "guess we're LIVING RENT-FREE IN YOUR HEAD," "getting into your OODA loop," etc.

It's tough to combat this shit because even noticing it gives it more legitimacy and oxygen than it deserves. But not combating it at all would lead to it flourishing like kudzu on an REM album cover. No way to win - which is precisely as designed.

How did the Dallas rally end? Imagine if you'd driven from Wisconsin for that big letdown

Andy the Grasshopper, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:43 (two years ago) link

I just cannot fathom driving five hours to stand in the rain all day just to feel a sense of superiority over someone else. While I don't get the appeal, it's one thing to understand how someone turns into a keyboard warrior that trolls people for hours on end, but I really struggle to understand the leap from that to someone who spends time and money traveling to do this shit in person.

a superficial sheeb of intelligence (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:44 (two years ago) link

Here we go:

But by late afternoon, it became clear that JFK Jr would not be making a return, and supporters began to drift away. In Telegram channels, some QAnon adherents accused those who showed up of believing the wrong influencers and being a gullible splinter faction. Others invented new conspiracy theories, claiming that the event was a setup to discredit the movement.

Though many mocked the gathering, Jared Holt, a researcher at the Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Lab, saw it as symptomatic of a deeper malaise.

"For people to be in the state of mind where they are utterly and hopelessly detached from reality opens up very dangerous possibilities for what that individual may do going forward," Holt told the Washington Post.

Andy the Grasshopper, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:47 (two years ago) link

jon - It's the camaraderie, I think. You get a few hundred people people together who think "Let's Go Brandon" is funny, and it doesn't matter that JFK Jr. didn't show up. They're trusting the plan. Where we go one, we go all. The true Kraken is the friends we made along the way.

True Q heads trust the plan for solidarity, and have coined the term "datefag" (as in, "don't datefag") for those who might be disappointed that something doesn't come to fruition at a specific time. What's important is that the storm is COMING. If it were to arrive that would ruin the delectable joy of anticipating it. It's always Christmas Eve, never Christmas morning, and that's okay. If you trust the plan. It would have a kind of zen beauty to it if it were not so sinister.

gin and catatonic (Ye Mad Puffin), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:51 (two years ago) link

I don't know, apparently even a bunch of Q people thought the Dallas rally was insane

Andy the Grasshopper, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:54 (two years ago) link

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. If you've alienated your friends, family and coworkers with your insane beliefs, I guess driving hours to hang out with like-minded strangers in the rain might seem more palpable.

a superficial sheeb of intelligence (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 17:54 (two years ago) link

xp A lot of them thought 1/6 was insane! An Antifa / BLM false flag. Ditto lots of things that have happened since then.

The disease is sneaky, it metamorphs and metastasizes and oozes to the side when you try to pin it down. Part of the secret of its survival in the face of all reason. It's not really a specific set of genuinely held truth claims - more an attitude toward truth itself. Pernicious and mercurial.

I just cannot fathom driving five hours to stand in the rain all day just to feel a sense of superiority over someone else.

Most likely it has become the sole source of excitement and camaraderie in their lives in much the same way that "superfans" of celebrities and sports teams find in their ceremonies of adoration, which helps them to tolerate their otherwise drab lives.

more difficult than I look (Aimless), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 18:30 (two years ago) link

This is sadly awesome:

One of the livestream’s hosts shot back that followers needed to show more faith, pointing out how lonely so many of them had been before latching on to QAnon.

“Some of them were home alone feeling lonely,” she said. “They had nobody there. We’ve heard these stories for months about people, people feeling alone, having nobody they can talk to. And now you have, what, 1,000 people in Dallas?”

Suddenly, another woman cut her off.

“I just can’t wait to see Kobe Bryant!” the new woman said.

Sure, I guess, but usually these gatherings are around performances or games or something.

This is just like a bunch of dudes strapping on their Red Sox gear, driving to Maine, standing out in the pouring rain for seven hours before going back home. "Why? Because, FUCK the Yankees".

a superficial sheeb of intelligence (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 19:10 (two years ago) link

knuckleheaded mornonic bafoon (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 19:17 (two years ago) link

The desire to make and inhabit (often irrationally constructed - ie sports fandoms where the rival teams fans are an enemy to actually be fought) communities (and exclude the other) is pretty ingrained in the human psyche at this point.

papal hotwife (milo z), Wednesday, 3 November 2021 19:21 (two years ago) link

A big part of Q lore is the fantasy of seeing Democratic Party leaders executed during “the Storm.” So it’s more like squid game than red sox/yankees—baseball rivalries are a pro-social sublimation of tribal bloodlust and this is the real thing.

treeship., Wednesday, 3 November 2021 19:34 (two years ago) link

And though we're now pretty far into the 21st century, there does seem to be some elements of millennial thinking, or 'end times' fantasy.. the wicked shall be punished (tom hanks), and the righteous shall take the throne (trump, I guess).

I remember watching shows about Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce as a kid, and there was always someone willing to 'interpret' their vague revelations to support the current news of the day... Q hasn't posted anything for almost a year, so the faithful are forced to either A) continually reinterpret his existing missives to fit unfolding events, or B) invent some new crazy shit

Andy the Grasshopper, Wednesday, 3 November 2021 19:39 (two years ago) link

It’s definitely a millenarian cult.

(CNN)Jacob Chansley, the so-called "QAnon Shaman," was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the US Capitol riot.

The Justice Department had asked for Chansley to receive a harsh sentence as a way to set an example among the January 6 rioters, and prosecutors have positioned Chansley as emblematic of a barbaric crowd.

Do federal prisoners automatically go to Leavenworth, or is that just in old gangster movies?
And will he get his fresh organic produce in federal prison?
