I was there too - didn't mind the venue that much. small but

wish I had known, I'd have bought you a pint! I spent 9/10ths of the set unable to see anything, the choice to have a "stage" that's barely an inch higher than the crowd space means a 5ft5 wisp like me either needs to be down the front or resign themselves to the view of the back of somebody's head.

even the tracks i wasn't as enthusiastic about pre-release sound so much better in the context of the full album

ya this is hitting super hard. 'expressions' is amazing

i kind of prefer them in post-disco mode than in fever ray mode

"carmen" is incredible

This album is delightful. I love how lush and detailed it is - it feels like there's always about a hundred details going at any given moment - while retaining its light, airy effervescence.

Great album. I never fully connected with Salt, but this one is so instant.

The group's Lincoln Center debut reimagines the space as an exclusive rock club, minus the cover. Mr Twin Sister's early EPs announced the band's signature brand of musically omnivorous dreamy disco, but they first gained international recognition when Kendrick Lamar sampled their single "Meet the Frownies" for his breakout hit "The Recipe." Four albums later, the quartet has established themselves as among the scene's most respected and influential institutions. Pitchfork said Mr Twin Sister's latest release, 2022's Upright and Even, "exists to be danced to... each song is self aware, mature and sexy."
