two weeks pass...
I didn't really like it that much. It was just way too precious in a way that I found very icky and uncomfortable. It's totally tweemo. I can understand why someone would really like it, especially if it caught them on just the right day, but I mostly just thought it was so-so indie fluff. There were some moments throughout that were interesting/funny, but the film would generally be way better without its leads. I'm going to be doing a full review of it soon, but a lot of my feelings are echoed by this review on the Face Knife.

The only time I've ever gotten an actual cease and desist was for Death Cab For Cutie, by the way. Atlantic was pretty hardcore about it. I met Ben Gibbard recently and mentioned it to him, and he was really embarassed about it, he had no idea. He's a very big fan of mp3 blogs, so it certainly not a decision he would have made.

xpost - Do you think that it applies to you, Sean?

The Gibbard thing was sort of random, I was introduced to him when I was at the Subpop showcase at CMJ. He's a really nice guy, very friendly.

Greatest 3-record run by decade...

What the fuck.

What a way to suck all of the joy out of listening to music.

When did ILM turn into the Q/Mojo music discussion list anyway?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 27 October 2005 16:56 (eighteen years ago) link

Approximately June 2002, I think.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Thursday, 27 October 2005 16:59 (eighteen years ago) link

terry lennox. (gareth), Thursday, 27 October 2005 17:53 (eighteen years ago) link

i saw the "best four album run" hip hop version and immediately thought "the only person who comes close is ghostface." hip hop is all about releasing STINKY ALBUMS, isn't it?

Special Agent Dale Koopa (orion), Thursday, 27 October 2005 17:57 (eighteen years ago) link

Am I a noise enemy or a baseball enemy?

That's what I want to know. I do like the Tigers though, except for the scary Kingfish tiger on this thread.

'you' vs. 'radio gnome invisible 3' FITE (ex machina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:20 (eighteen years ago) link

WTF is the point, it never works does it? There's worse on ilm, anyway.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:26 (eighteen years ago) link

i'ma just keep deleting them whenever i see them, fyi

dabnis coleman's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:28 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah, I noticed. I'm kind of going on the assumption that one at a time is OK. Someone should point her at myspace or livejournal or suchlike.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:30 (eighteen years ago) link

the bitch-ass main mods can get on me for it if they want, but i'd like to see the justifcation for keeping them

NO.

'you' vs. 'radio gnome invisible 3' FITE (ex machina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:36 (eighteen years ago) link

he joke for me is that this guy who posts on a mail list I'm on actually knows her irl, and he's even more deranged and verbose than she is.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:36 (eighteen years ago) link

but otherwise, his manner is not unlike hers.

(x-p0st) she isn't as bad as "esteban", prime candidate for ip ban IF IT WOULD ACTUALLY WORK.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:39 (eighteen years ago) link

I like Esteban!

'you' vs. 'radio gnome invisible 3' FITE (ex machina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:39 (eighteen years ago) link

He's a pain. He has actually derailed a couple of threads on ILM, which is fucking out of order.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:41 (eighteen years ago) link

More like par for the course!

'you' vs. 'radio gnome invisible 3' FITE (ex machina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:44 (eighteen years ago) link

Yeah, but most thread "mutations" don't consist of some retard repeatedly posting 1,000,000 variations on "lol @ fags".

He didn't last long here, did he?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:47 (eighteen years ago) link

i only delete the marissa threads because they bug me for some reason

dabnis coleman's ghost (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:49 (eighteen years ago) link

Actually, it just occured to me that if mariesa were to record a sensitive, acoustic piano-accompanied version of "my humps", that would fucking rock. Well, maybe.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:49 (eighteen years ago) link

SAVE THIS THREAD FORVER!!

i AM STILL REQUESTING THAT THEY DELETE THIS ONE...I DON'T ANYTHING UNDER MY NAME HERE...IF I DON'T WANT THIS TO SHOW UP UNDER GOOGLE SEARCH WHY CAN'T THEY BE NICE ENOUGH TO DELETE THIS ONE? BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY MEAN PEOPLE...
AND IT HURTS ME TO KNOW THAT PEOPLE DO THINGS ON PURPOSE TO HURT PEOPLE....
IF I WRITE SOMEONE A LETTER AND REQUEST A DELETION THEY SHOULD BE RESPECTFUL OF ARTISTS WISHES...
OR PEOPEL IN GENERAL. WHY DO THEY HAVE MODERATION REQUESTS IF THEY IGNORE MY REQUESTS???

IT IS SAD THAT i AM TREATED SO POORLY MY OTHER MUSICIANS AND PEOPLE ON THE NET..IGNORING ME...LIKE i AM A PIECE OF CRAP....
i AM BEING TREATED LIKE CRAP./...

What annoyed mne about them before was this distinct air of people deriving their amusement from prodding the mentally ill. But, WTF, you know. She doesn't bother me much, apart from the using ilm as her blog thing. Oh yeah, half the time, I'm sure it's people spoofing her as well.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Thursday, 1 December 2005 17:52 (eighteen years ago) link

kind of pathetic, really. she needs a hug.

ps. what does her music sound like?
