No, it’s not still on the road. Separate gov.uk tool shows its tax ran out in 1985.

anything over 40 years doesn't need taxing. or rather it does need taxing but you don't need to pay for it. so that's not the case here (and wouldn't've been for a 68 car in 85) so it's dead. and died so young!

I looked up the only family car whose plate I could remember, an Escort registered in 1977, and it shows as untaxed from even earlier in ‘85, so your Minx didn’t do too badly. Thinking about it, ours was nicked so I guess that’s where it met its end.

there must been other cars, but i can only remember a white mini cooper other than those, and that was years ago. my brother would get pulled over by the police on a weekly basis driving that - it made him look underage
