People just really fucking love a comeback story when it involves a major celebrity. I mean look at how Tiger Woods' profile somehow increased as his life and golf game started to crumble.
Or Dave Chappelle becoming more and more popular even as he morphs into the most insufferable dude on the planet. Once you reach a certain level it's fucking hard for people to turn their backs. Look how much shit had to come out before people started abandoning R. Kelly! Donda is garbage but it sure as hell is better than his last two, so whatever, redemption arc completed. I admit I still find myself somewhat interested in what he's up to, but also fuck this guy forever
