Thanks for the recommendation. The wordless finale was very well done and mostly redeemed the film.

The moral and psychological torment which should have burdened Gawain after choosing to kill the Green Knight would have been far richer material to mine than all the witchcraft stuff which occupied the middle act. He sealed his own fate when he chose to kill rather than inflict a lesser wound. Realistically, a person would be tormented by that action in hindsight. That introspection was sadly missing in the main character, and because of that, Gawain was not someone I cared about much.
