I don’t really care about Drake but hopefully is better than the other guy’s record.

i don't understand what the point of hyping up this album's guest artists on billboards is given that none of them are remotely surprising and few are interesting

And almost all of them (Jay aside) have been on songs with him in the past year.

It’s a compliment to ayesha, he’s friends w the Currys. Saying other girls aren’t Ayesha enough… ayesha is the ideal wife strong/independent/amazing cook/etc

the thing people are taking issue with is the sample itself really, no one's saying "the sample is fine but r kelly is bad so he shouldn't be credited for it"

well i think people are implying the problem is the 'writing credit'

which is a natural result of the sampling & i haven't seen anyone fail to understand this (but i'm also not really following whatever twitter convos are happening about this maybe people are that stupid idk). like the actual RS article makes that connection very clear & focuses on the sampling itself, despite the tweet being worded a little weird.

Leaving all the singles off of this feels as if he had left “Nice For What” and “God’s Plan” off of Scorpion. Need to listen again, but so far preferring Dark Lane Demo Tapes. But maybe this one is consciously “no beefs, no sneak disses.”

that seems to be responding to a buzzfeed piece which completely bungles the story by claiming r kelly was "credited as a co-lyricist" which is obviously wrong

but it doesn't actually address the point of "it's a bad look to sample r kelly, especially because it means he gets a credit". like ok, even if they didn't actually care about the bit from the r kelly track & just wanted to use a sample of ron c talking that just happened to have the intro from the r kelly track in the background, if they do agree he's that bad then maybe they should have just left it off completely. the orchestral bit from the r kelly track behind ron c talking isn't "faint" either

The timing of my recent visit plus Covid meant we didn’t see an MCU movie in the theater, but Donda and CLB dropped during that window so we were able to experience those events together, though we had different opinions
