the OCX episode after the VR stuff (where the Delgados finally get to Tim) is some amazing shit, Tim's bit about standing on the bridge threatening suicide unless he can get On Cinema back is maybe his finest moment as an actor. he's so good at expressing that brooding, barely-concealed rage while others are talking, all the episodes where he has to play it "straight" to appease the Delgados are so good

the Toni Newman character is so great because she's someone who's so recognizable in real life; the "wine mom" who seems fun and affable but once you get to know her you realize she has some truly insane beliefs and drinks as a way to cope with the abuse her husband is putting her through. I know neighbors and people at work who are just like that, they're kind of sympathetic characters but also happen to post a lot of anti-vaxx shit on Facebook. despite that you rarely see a character like that on screen. they really found the perfect actress for it too.

might as well bump this while the on sinema at the sinema thread is still contemporary. i am back in the on cinema game. i jumped back in roughly where i left off (season 6), and then went back and rewatched starting at season 5 just for fun. currently watching the 3rd oscar special and am glad to see that tim has switched to non-alcoholic Organic champagne for this special

Personally I think Lucky Season 7 is the best but 10 and 11 are right up there and this new one is a lot of fun so far, not to mention the Oscar Specials and the uhh “high budget” seasons of Decker which honestly are some of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
