Thy was quite a Pro Evo (RIP) passage of play all round

Brilliant save, lovely cutback and hit

Well, that's a vibe

Per a friend

I am not an Arsenal fan, I am an Arsenal masochist. Get it right.

They won't get to play arsenal every week but great start for brentford. Toney looked the business despite not scoring

Actual takeons in the box, forgot that was even allowed

A breath of fresh air indeed

I'm too deeply ensconced in petty old little league feuds to wish Brentford too much goodwill. I want to see them a getting proper arseholing at some point. And the manager is a fucking tool.

Arteta really is the David Brent of football, his pep lite football theories simply don't harness much of the talent he has at his disposal. A man lost in sexy football lingo and ideas but unable to see what's in front of him, arteta out...from an arsenal fan!!. Ben White was soo slow to react for both goals, what a nightmare start, welcome to the club, pal!!

Swanswans, Saturday, 14 August 2021 07:40 (two years ago) link

that said, i didn't see much preseason but was impressed by partey and felt nkeitah was very sharp and ready.....then both are injured and out for weeks, then BOTH laca and auba get injured days before the season starts?!? Brentford deserved the win against our cursed lot!!

Swanswans, Saturday, 14 August 2021 07:44 (two years ago) link

Pogba has three assists inside an hour.

Leicester - Wolves an absolute cracker at the moment

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:26 (two years ago) link

Chelsea contenders imo

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:33 (two years ago) link

Given how shit everything else is in this country why not

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:35 (two years ago) link

O fuck beautiful pass from Mou, Adama tears through the centre halfs then slots it wide

Near sitter ffs

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:39 (two years ago) link

This is why he's always gonna be "limited"

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:39 (two years ago) link

Not sure having BITCH on our shirt sleeves is a good look

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:41 (two years ago) link

Fucks sake beautifully worked Leicester goal, Vardy being a clinical cunt as per

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:42 (two years ago) link

Shocking defending between Moutinho and Marcal tho

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:43 (two years ago) link

Controversial I know but for a late bloomer Vardy is stupidly talented

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:44 (two years ago) link

Villa have been horrible

Starting to suspect that losing Grealish might actually turn out to be a pretty significant setback

Windsor Davies, Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:45 (two years ago) link

Oof just seen the half time scores

Fucks sake Villa, Watford delenda est

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:50 (two years ago) link

"a touch of fortune" about that second Watford goal tbf

they're probably not even scum any more, still carrying the stigma of the Pearson phase

in the absence of a new Little Leagues thread i just wanna briefly lol Derby btw

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 14:58 (two years ago) link

11 minutes of injury time well deployed by Ferguson jr.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Saturday, 14 August 2021 15:03 (two years ago) link

I've been watching Chelsea v Palace as a proxy for My Mother, but I thought I was 1/4 of the way to £50,000 with Armstrong scoring for Soto. It's only at halftime I've realised that was ADAM Armstrong, not Stuart, so that's all fucked already. Oh well.

Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Saturday, 14 August 2021 15:04 (two years ago) link

If Football Manager has taught me anything it's never back Stuart Armstrong

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 15:07 (two years ago) link

Yeah that should be my yearbook quote

Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Saturday, 14 August 2021 15:14 (two years ago) link

Second Adama shot and it's straight at the keeper

I feel like we've been much better than the idiot spoilt brat section of our fans wanted to think we would be but there's very little edge at the moment, needs a signing or two before the end of the month

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 15:29 (two years ago) link

much better performance than my worst imaginings but obv it sucks when you can't score. cautiously thinking we've got the makings of something tho

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 15:55 (two years ago) link

Teemu Pukki has been a fucking wasteman since, what, 2 months into their last Prem season? I was trying to fashion a Niemi-based gag about "he's not Finnish! He's only..." but turns out he's 31, yeah he's finished

Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Saturday, 14 August 2021 16:51 (two years ago) link

Second Adama shot and it's straight at the keeper

His muscles get in the way

Saxophone Of Futility (Michael B), Saturday, 14 August 2021 17:22 (two years ago) link

pretty sure he's about as good as he's ever gonna be and i wouldn't cry if we took daft money for him but today was a classic example of why nobody will offer daft money for him

still love you boo

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 17:24 (two years ago) link

made up for Chalobah getting a goal on his debut, he was good for us but I thought he might not make it at Chelsea.

calzino, Saturday, 14 August 2021 17:34 (two years ago) link

well tbh he was a bit dodgy for us, but we played him in midfield and in a very shit side, but he did show potential and was a 100%er.

calzino, Saturday, 14 August 2021 17:41 (two years ago) link

It looks like Tuchel might actually rate Chalobah? I expect a Rudiger/Thiago/Chalobah back 3 going forward, Christiansen is useless, Zouma is a lump and possibly away, I actually watched whatever they called that wee London pre-season tournament and yeah Chalobah seems worth persevering with

Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Saturday, 14 August 2021 17:49 (two years ago) link

yeah he played him in the Super Cup last week as well, looks like he's in there.

calzino, Saturday, 14 August 2021 17:54 (two years ago) link

Kounde still a target from all you read but apparently its rudiger considered most vulnerable

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Saturday, 14 August 2021 18:10 (two years ago) link

didn't Chalobah start life as a DM? good learning curve if you can make the switch to being a centre half with more in your armory than hoofing it

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 18:15 (two years ago) link

yeah I think he did. A bit like yer man Coady

calzino, Saturday, 14 August 2021 18:18 (two years ago) link

yeah. never want to play him in a 2 tho

Tumbledown Duck (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 August 2021 18:21 (two years ago) link

four weeks pass...

Forest apparently willing to stump up £180 k pw for Lingard doesn't surprise me. If they've got the financial clout to fix playoff finals then they can afford that.

calzino, Wednesday, 20 July 2022 15:42 (one year ago) link

lmao Everton lost 4-0 to Minnesota United of MLS.

I was going to say "well, it was their D squad", but their starting 11 is already a D-squad, so idk if that would have helped.

xp, Oof, just seen that Forest have signed the two players with the denied penalties in the final, yr feelings towards the tricky trees cannot be warm right now

O’Brien was the heartbeat of the team and is irreplaceable, his departure is probably the reason Corberan walked. Toffolo on the other hand had a pretty indifferent season till the last dozen games where he suddenly turned into to best leftback in the champo. But I doubt he'll be first choice, nor make any impact in the prem. And we can't really complain about the manner of his leaving, we got him from Lincoln for a song after he'd seen out his contract to the last year and refused to sign a new one there, same again. And he's been replaced by the impressive looking Japanese international, Yuta Nakayama. But they've had our pants down with O'Brien, he's worth double the alleged £8m and add ons. Hope they go bust etc...

calzino, Thursday, 21 July 2022 11:15 (one year ago) link

Charity Shield was against all odds an actually great game. Haaland ok did fuckall eventual, but I coould see him dominating the next season, he's a fucken beast

The Speak Of The Mearns (Jonathan Hellion Mumble), Saturday, 30 July 2022 18:40 (one year ago) link

I thought it was kind of telling that he spent an hour or so making smart runs off the shoulder with no one picking him out in favour of playing a safe backwards or sideways ball

within 15 seconds of Nunez coming on Liverpool were pinging balls over the top for him to chase every time they got on the ball.

It almost certainly won’t make a difference in the long run but it’s fucking criminal how boring city are with the talent they’ve got

Windsor Davies, Saturday, 30 July 2022 20:04 (one year ago) link

Haaland is going to score boatloads. Don’t fancy having to look at his mug constantly, but he’s built for the PL.

Sam Weller, Saturday, 30 July 2022 20:14 (one year ago) link

He would score boatloads anywhere he played tbf

Let's Get Ready to Trimble (Tom D.), Saturday, 30 July 2022 20:24 (one year ago) link

Haaland is going to score boatloads. Don’t fancy having to look at his mug constantly, but he’s built for the PL.

well sure but i'm not looking forward to watching it is what i'm saying

Windsor Davies, Saturday, 30 July 2022 21:08 (one year ago) link

there is a reality in which Grealish wide on the left with Haaland up top is a joyfully destructive wrecking machine but i don't think this will go down like that. Haaland will score for fun and City will be unstoppable anyway but whatever else it may be it doesn't look like being an aesthetic triumph

Windsor Davies, Saturday, 30 July 2022 21:12 (one year ago) link

which is not a judgement on 70 mins of a young player making his debut in a meaningless pre-season friendly so much as a condemnation of Guardiola's City in the round. boring cunts.
