Lanisha Cole names the producers of the popular game show, Michael G. Richards...as well as their production company, Fremantle Media North America.

Cole began working on "The Price Is Right" in 2003 and by all accounts enjoyed a normal work environment over half a dozen years.

But beginning in December 2009, the situation began to deteriorate when Richards suddenly and inexplicably stopped speaking to Cole and began showing favoritism to another model with whom he was having a relationship, the suit alleges.

According to the court papers, Richards used policies "which never before existed" to limit her modeling work on the show and engaged in abusive behavior.

According to Wikipedia, he was in consideration for the TPIR hosting job (in addition to being a producer) but lost out to Drew Carey, so I imagine this guy has had an axe to grind in the gameshow world for over a decade and now that he gets to call the shots he naturally thinks he's the right man for the job.

ugh ugh ugh. he's a perfectly good game show host, which is exactly what jeopardy doesn't need.

i can't remember if it was monday or yetersday's game that came disastrously close to only matt qualifying for final jeopardy--the other two contestants were both still in the red with 6 clues remaining--but it made me wonder, has it ever happened before that only one contestant makes it to final?

yeah it was yesterday's, it was like 43k to -800 and -300 at the end there lol. and then matt wagered 37k on final jeapordy and got the question wrong!

Richards would not even be in most peoples top 5 of the guest hosts. Don't know David Faber at all, but he has been better than Richards.

Oh well, my girlfriend called it that he was already chosen going to be the host, they just wanted a bit of separation to allay any complaints.

In hindsight, considering the German migration, I guess that makes sense on the final question yesterday. I guessed French myself for what language was the newspaper to first report the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.

I remember reading one of those "strange facts" things that claimed German was almost made the official language of the US, so I would have guessed German. I doubt the strange fact was true, though.

even then she seemed weirdly cagey and equivocal about it. when talking about it she always seems to go out of her way to leave enough wiggle room for ppl who believe in 'vaccine choice' to hear what they want to hear: "although a lot of people have good & real reasons to be skeptical of big pharma/childhood vaccination schedules/etc, here's why I have chosen this based on my own personal research", etc.

like she did a 10 minute video about how shes not antivax, but still somehow managed to scrupulously avoid saying 'everyone should go out and get the COVID vaccine which is very safe and effective'

this really blows :/

Few of the guest hosts were outright awful (I didn’t watch Dr. Oz, but because he is awful as a human being, I assumed that carried over into Jeopardy hosting duties). Roberts, Guthrie, Burton, Whitaker and Jennings were my faves. Hell, Joe Buck is even doing ok, and I can’t stand him on baseball broadcasts. Aaron Rodgers struck me as robotic, and I don’t get why he was apparently a frontrunner. Richards was a non-entity, and I assume will continue to be.

I wish for Andrew Cuomo to no longer be the governor of New York.

I enjoyed her as a host, and there was just enough plausible deniability around her bad opinions when they came up itt that I’d still prefer her 1000x as main host over Richards

Casting her as unspecified “specials host” really does feel like “oh you don’t like me giving myself, a multiple sexual harassment suit settler, the job? well I also gave a racist antivaxxer WOMAN a job (tbd), so how can I be sexist??! checkmate” tho

going into final jeopardy nicolle had $13,600 exactly half matts $27,200. so if she had bet everything and matt bet zero, it would have been a tie. interesting matt bet 1$ to avoid a potential tiebreaker. risky move

Matt A. does know some obscure stuff, but is pretty on it when they do pop music and baseball too (said he was 1/2 way through seeing a game at every park). The guy is working on a PHD in AI and they said his parents were lit professors that named their dog Dostoevsky, so he has some pretty hardcore nerd credentials.

I don't usually watch this, but Nicolle is a friend of some friends and I've met them a couple of times on Zoom quiz things over the last year, so was very much rooting for them from a not-actually-watching distance.
