I think I realise why I lurk rather than post here is as a 26yo, I feel like I have not lived/consumed enough to participate in the dialogue.

I still feel like this in my 40s and I've been mostly lurking here for probably 15 years at this point. So many smart and knowledgeable people on this board, I feel like my contributions are rarely meaningful and mostly redundant.

Ha, sorry for causing so much confusion. Yes, the Peter Thiel thing is not specific to ilx, and I maybe did overestimate how much other people know/care about billionaire/longevity cult people and their young person vampirism.

I just assumed everyone knew the "inject yourself with young person blood" story! I was wrong! I did get a little obsessed with the weirdness of longevity cults for a while but I've seen it specifically in reference to Thiel a bunch so figured it'd be an understandable thing, if a bit memey.

the first thing i think of with thiel is just how wealthy he is, how vindictive, how he's like the guy in the master, how he dreams of libertarian free-floating fortresses running on crypto. so he wants to be a vampire too and young guy blood, eh that all fits into his main story.

I was on a pre-ILX thing and cannot bear to see what I wrote on there, my online persona was definitely "complete prick" at the time. Then I didn't actually start posting here until what, 2013? 2014? - after lurking for a year or two. It is a right and good thing that I and everyone else were spared the 2000s posts I would have made.
