I was somehow even more obnoxious in my early 20s and would have been eaten alive if I'd come struttin' in here with the knowing smirk of someone who'd somehow already seen it all three years out of high school. Regardless of age the trick is to post like you already know everything about culture. You don’t actually have to, just google anything you don’t get and pretend you knew it all along in your response. The ilx points you receive can even double with the “time bonus” feature (respond within 2 minutes with proof you “understand” the above posts in a thread). but as far as old bad posts go, it can be partly addressed by changing your username a few times. the oldsters will remember and retain some continuity, but it throws everyone else off the trail. kind of like getting your car painted in GTA III

I think I realise why I lurk rather than post here is as a 26yo, I feel like I have not lived/consumed enough to participate in the dialogue.
