How do you all draw without smudging it everywhere?

Karl, using a harder lead will help - what kind of pencil do you use? I used a Laurentien erasable pencil for those. I've seen people use a piece of paper between the drawing and the side of your hand and even cotton gloves with the fingers cut out. tbh i don't think i make too much contact with my drawing hand

Or use a pen! I don't think I touch the paper much with my hand either, I might worry about smudging for a half hour or more charcoal drawing but not for ten minutes with a pencil.

I'd like to join the thread if I may to get practice at drawing from imagination which is my biggest weakness.
