potentially more consistent that season one with less high highs but also i'm excited to grow obsessed with several of these sketches over time
― STOCK FIST-PUMPER BRAD (BradNelson), Tuesday, 6 July 2021 18:56 (two years ago) link
odenkirk sketch is absolutely perfect, i guess another thing that distinguishes this season is the writing is genuinely emotionally heavy at points
― STOCK FIST-PUMPER BRAD (BradNelson), Tuesday, 6 July 2021 18:57 (two years ago) link
knew i was in good hands when i was already losing my shit at "coffin flop"
― STOCK FIST-PUMPER BRAD (BradNelson), Tuesday, 6 July 2021 18:59 (two years ago) link
in the same boat as brad, agreed that the odenkirk sketch went from 0-60 from funny to affecting at the speed of one of his triplicate barracudas
― the mai tai quinn (voodoo chili), Tuesday, 6 July 2021 22:30 (two years ago) link
maybe nothing as explosively funny as the focus group or robert palins sketch, tho the coffin flop and little buff boys sketches came close, but a lot of them feel like growers
(i’m three episodes in btw)

lol at cold open of first episode.

lmao at Corncob TV, "Coffin Flop".
ok i'm done narrating the sketches asI watch them, but i couldn't control my laughter the first time a body broke out of a coffin

so glad they brought back the host of Baby of the Year, though this sketch petered out a little early. but he's always funny af.

yeah, impressed how rarely the cast repeats on this show but I also wish Patti Harrison was in every episode, she has the most unexpected & astonishing line readings of anyone

default would be the odenkirk sketch- really has the entire tone of the season bow-tied nicely.
Also, going out with the final sketch they did was something.
― Western® with Bacon Flavor, Wednesday, 7 July 2021 05:39 (two years ago) link
much as with the first season, there's a pretty clear 50/50 split between uproariously funny and total bomb.

had grand plans to stretch these out across the week to make the fun last longer, but blitzed through the first 3 last night, was in tears the entire time. loved how there were a few mr. show-style callbacks, like the dan flashes commercial. agree that patti harrison is an mvp. the casting in general is so good, esp the non-comedians like the santa claus guy or the burger stealing professor.

My partner usually hates sketch shows and absurdism, but loves this show. I think it's down to 1) good production values 2) everyone else in the sketches react like actual humans.

yeah, it really does a great job at the "one person seems to be in a completely different universe from the rest of the group, and the rest of the group tries to cope with this" motif.
