worst thing about tv adverts at the moment: the streaming services where if you're watching in a browser and you switch to another tab, it pauses the ads.

Oh, and I don't listen to "commercial radio" much, but when I do, I hear Dermot et al doing the "termsandconditionsapply" speedlearn at the end of every advert...

My partner has commercial radio on in the car and they make me want to die. Like, would saying "termsandconditionsapply" not suffice? Some of then seem to go on for minutes

I think my least favourite genre are the insurance/saving/whatever ads which depict rapid stepwise aging of the protagonists. Aw, your little toddler is having kids of her own now, THINK ABOUT THAT, and here is your 65yo future self enigmatically thanking you on your doorstep for yr recent prudent financial decisions and then vanishing back into their timeline. There should be a TW for all of that content.

I'm sure I've mentioned these itt before. I hate them, or rather I hate the fact that advertisers keep making them because someone had the idea for them once and might have produced a good one, but copying and stealing ideas from each other is what ad agencies do.

I just did a search, just to see how long we've been sick of this sort of ad... and you were already sick of it in 2017 :) Eventually child actors from the first wave of these inter-generational future-shock ads will be able to play their own parents in... oh forget it.

I think this was probably mentioned already but the car ornament singing Pet Shop Boys.

nobody's singled out the Just Eat adverts with the voiceover that sounds like a phone-line option menu yet.

Still far too many adverts with 'ordinary people' singing - out of tune, out of time etc, because obviously no ordinary person can sing.

I think I might be late to this one, but our Hulu has suddenly been inundated with that awful LG ad using the Ol Dirty Bastard song, but with people singing along, "baby I got your laundry". As egregious as the Bourdain AI voice, imo.

Inevitably, because ad agencies have never come across an idea they didn't think was worth flogging to death, there is now virtually a subgenre of irritating eco-kids adverts
