Well done.

Wow! Been there?

StanM, Monday, 28 June 2021 14:24 (two years ago) link

amazing, I did think it looked a bit like another in a park in South America we had a while back.

- Dubl Handi washboard = from Columbus, Ohio
- Arts In ... folder?
- what's that wavy thing outsice (behind pink jacket lady's head) ? Are they standing next to a shuffleboard?

StanM, Thursday, 1 July 2021 16:29 (two years ago) link

north america because the portable AC is set to farenheit and there's a diner-style coffee mug. that's all i got.

They don’t have diner mugs abroad? Sucks for them.

Clara Lemlich stan account (silby), Thursday, 1 July 2021 16:40 (two years ago) link

the very thick ceramic and concave outer surface is uniquely north american in my experience.

spent ages trying to read that Pure Hanoi sign before I read the next post!

kinder, Thursday, 1 July 2021 16:59 (two years ago) link

the big black spotlight is pointing at something across from here but the roof on that main attraction doesn't look that old-fashioned

StanM, Thursday, 1 July 2021 17:18 (two years ago) link

taos?

plax (ico), Thursday, 1 July 2021 17:39 (two years ago) link

O I can see it much better on a PC. Something about trolley rides?

kinder, Thursday, 1 July 2021 18:10 (two years ago) link

lots of tourist/cabin type stuff everywhere in NorthEastern USA and I have no idea if that's even the right region (just because they have that washboard?)

StanM, Friday, 2 July 2021 06:31 (two years ago) link

That woman is behind a rope, which means she's an exhibit, right? "Come see the old frontier town grandma with her multiple aircon units and coffee machine!" (or whatever it is)

is this how people filled in their crossword puzzles in the olden days?

StanM, Friday, 2 July 2021 09:45 (two years ago) link

The white hat hanging on the door definitely looks like something worn for an olden-days experience.

Alba, Friday, 2 July 2021 11:33 (two years ago) link

By the door, I mean.

Alba, Friday, 2 July 2021 11:34 (two years ago) link

The headless man outside the cabin is taking a photo of something that looks like it could be used for gold panning. I'd say in general there's more of a "pioneer"/western frontier feel to the place (i.e., not the northeast where the emphasis would be more on colonial-era history, I think). Possibly Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota, etc. This is more of a stretch, but the way the people outside are dressed also looks ~western US~ to me

Given it's set to 64 and what everyone is wearing, that machine is probably functioning as a heater. I don't think the ropes are there to put her on display, she just works there and you're not supposed to touch anything behind the ropes

Stack of maps looks like a mountain range or river valley

rob, Friday, 2 July 2021 13:50 (two years ago) link

six minutes later and I'm rethinking all that lol

the Amish wear straw hats with black ribbons, though they may not be the only people in history to do that

on further inspection, I'm not sure what the hell that guy is taking a picture of

rob, Friday, 2 July 2021 13:58 (two years ago) link

The headless man

ha i actually saw it that his head was that wooden column (tree trunk?)

an empty parking lot in the Summer, possible ski slope on the right?

StanM, Tuesday, 6 July 2021 13:37 (two years ago) link

If that's a ski slope, could be the Appalachian mountains since the trees and buildings suggest modest elevation. Maybe somewhere in TN or NC?

that's not my post, Tuesday, 6 July 2021 13:47 (two years ago) link

swimming pool in an industrial estate, narrows it down a tad.

Diggin Holes (Ste), Tuesday, 6 July 2021 14:10 (two years ago) link

the buildings look a little on the tall side for the west, so i'm cautiously going to say appalachia or maybe vermont/maine if that's skiing stuff (skeptical about that).

Gatlinburg

assert (matttkkkk), Tuesday, 6 July 2021 20:10 (two years ago) link

I think so too, though I can't find the exact location of the photo. If you squint enough, that trolley map says "Gatlinburg Trolley".

Ahhh well done, I was googling Trolley Rides.

StanM, Wednesday, 7 July 2021 07:06 (two years ago) link

StanM, Wednesday, 7 July 2021 13:29 (two years ago) link

sorry I keep going on about this but it's hilarious

"The first home built in White Oak Flats / Gatlinburg around 1802. It has been moved three times to allow for expansion of schools and the constant changes of the demands of tourism and now hopefully permanently located at the Gatlinburg Visitor Center at the junction of Hwy's 321/441."
