Edelman is not known to me, so I was assuming their biggest casting "get" was Carol Bagdasarian, the daughter of Chipmunks creator and vocalist Ross. Apparently she made a decent go of it as a 70s TV actress, with an appearance on Harry O and seemingly five different named roles on Mannix. Her biggest film parts seem to have been this Model T movie, a supporting role in the Chuck Norris vehicle The Octagon, and a major role in a forgotten 1980s sci-fi movie called The Aurora Encounter.

Edelman was Dorothy's ex-husband Stanley on The Golden Girls.

He also did a ton of TV from the '60s-'90s, in addition to films like The Odd Couple and The Way We Were.

Herb Edelman recently made an appearance on Character Actor Roll Call in the wake of his name brother Herb Vigran.

Louis Nye is one of those people who was reasonably famous to anyone born before 1970 or '75...and a blank to anyone born after.

OTM. He was one of those guys I only knew from talk or game shows featuring old school wits. It was on one of the former I saw him with Steve Allen answering the question “Do you shun the public?” and his response was “Well there was this one fellow who recognized me in a restaurant and came over and dropped his cigarette ash in my meal so I shunned him, but no, in general I don’t shun the public.” Little James Redd was sitting there in front of the Zenith thinking “dude, you are lucky at this stage to have a public.”

apparently the plot is that Dick Van Dyke can't shave, due to a... mosquito bite I think? and this raises hackles at his mild-mannered job or whatever, and is the prompt for what seems like possibly a very limp, toothless sendup of hippie-era culture classes and the Generation Gap and so on.
