What I remember ov Scanner v powerful and he's puking up his lifestyle catching up with him, examining entrails/consulting oracles, thee master novelist, level slogger and downhill pilgrim racer---but don't remember enough to feel compelled to vote for it---so once again I'll go for the Butler as part of the Patternmaster whole: chronicle/s of a post->cult, via transmigration of souls, a twisted way of dealing w the Black Diaspora, among other things, also divisions within

I think A Scanner Darkly is a masterpiece. I like most Philip K. Dick just fine, but A Scanner Darkly is on my short list of favorite books.
