was gonna keep it open for a week, don't know what happenedthis could easily be my most listened to album and i still don't know which track i'll vote forbut i guess that's one of the reasons it's such a perfect album. even, ok, magnified love

The June gloom is here so I might actually listen to this today.
Over just ahead of Deep Inside.

Within you. The only thing I don’t like about it is they chose to put some effect on the word “shiver” which was superfluous.

yeah it’s one technique i wish they stopped usingor maybe i’m thinking of daniél overannunciating words here and there like in Crossfade?
was reading the kompact release blurb here: https://gusgus.bandcamp.com/album/arabian-horseand realized it never occurred to me how much this album relies on string arrangements, which doesn’t seem to extend to other albums that much?there are some other tracks i can think of, like god application on mexico but i don’t think it’s as prominent on other albums
going to relisten again and pay attention to strings this time

Polydistortion and its follow-up This is Normal are the only albums that represent GusGus as the original music/graphic design/cinema collective. After that, the lineup changed entirely, and post-1999 GusGus is kind of like that rock band that still uses the old name even though there is only one original member left.

thank you for that! i'm two-thirds through polydistortion and ehhmm... this is completely wonderful.

There are lots of stylistic and line up changes but I’d be hard pressed to pick a favourite, you’ve still got Attention and Arabian Horse to look forward to.

Arabian Horse and Lies Are More Flexible are really good!

i think both Daníel and Biggi were there from the start. here is a good write up:https://grapevine.is/mag/feature/2020/08/19/gusgus-the-impossible-band-25-years-of-intrigue-drama-and-music/
there was a dip in quality around Forever and 24/7 but Arabian Horse was an amazing return to form and kinda crystallized their sound for the most part
