^^ that's the one I missed, cheapest copy shipped in the US is $86. I do realize it was reissued in 2012, it's been a while.

one month passes...

Excellent intereview with Stephen Thrower.

I do however vehemently disagree with Mark Pilkington's take on "Further Back And Faster" which has always been one of my LSD highlights, and also, while I am very crusty averse the didgeridoo use on LSD never bothered me.

that's a great interview, thanks. agreed as well re: "Further Back" which totally rules

I mean

We hung out with the Buttholes several times, and Sleazy provided them with their infamous penis surgery projections.

noted the Love's Secret Domain remastered from original sources seems like shots fired against the Infinite Fog release.

lovely interview, seem like nice boys.

The good people at Waxtrax sent me a bandcamp DL code as the vinyl is delayed, so been enjoying the remaster ahead of one day receiving the vinyl.

my opinionation (Hamildan), Wednesday, 14 July 2021 09:07 (two years ago) link

can you buy the waxtrax remaster from anywhere in the UK?

I managed to score a vinyl copy of MtPItD from juno recently btw

Qamon (||||||||), Wednesday, 14 July 2021 09:09 (two years ago) link

Further Back is probably my favourite track on LSD

paolo, Wednesday, 14 July 2021 16:47 (two years ago) link

Well well well, look what was added earlier this week.

you ain't seen nothing yet, sadly. delays will get way, way worse.

stirmonster, Thursday, 22 July 2021 20:56 (two years ago) link

Maybe the last new record I will buy

my remastered wax trax Love's Secret Domain CD is almost here, just got the EU import bill - I'll compare it with the Infinite Fog one once I get it

StanM, Monday, 26 July 2021 10:29 (two years ago) link

I so adore the concept of COIL hanging out with the Butthole Surfers.

Alex in NYC, Monday, 26 July 2021 13:44 (two years ago) link

okay, my four CDs of Love's Secret Domain: 1991 < 2001 < infinite fog < wax trax

the Infinite Fog remaster doesn't sound bad at all, but the wax trax one clearly sounds better/more defined/stereo in my headphones.

StanM, Monday, 2 August 2021 13:46 (two years ago) link

oh - and if your CD player can handle it, the wax trax one has a hidden track before the first one

Still waiting for mine (since February, I think!). Tracking shows it's en route, though!

Got mine this weekend and agree 100%!!

xheugy eddy (D-40), Tuesday, 14 September 2021 00:00 (two years ago) link

Tracking on mine has said "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item, Chicago, IL" since Thursday. You'd think after an eight month delay Wax Trax would, I dunno, ship the thing the same day they printed the label.

Paul Ponzi, Tuesday, 14 September 2021 12:05 (two years ago) link

i wish this would get a uk release. shipping is just too much to justify buying it.

stirmonster, Tuesday, 14 September 2021 14:45 (two years ago) link

To be honest - That's as likely to be USPS not scanning the label as it is to be the label not dropping it at the post office. I sent a record 15 blocks recently that wasn't entered into the system until 2 weeks later when it was scanned in Seattle (for context, I like in Brooklyn).

Oblique Strategies, Tuesday, 14 September 2021 20:15 (two years ago) link

That's good to know, thanks, and yeah, that's happened to me once or twice. I receive the USPS delivery digest and it's never really accurate.

Anyway sorry to derail, just eager to a/b this one with the Infinite Fog version!

a comment by ryan martin (dais records co-owner) in the "official" coil FB group hints that a reissue of moon's milk in four phases is in the works

Autumn Equinox - Amethyst Deceivers, Winter Solstice - (no other title), Spring Equinox - Moon’s Milk or Under an Unquiet Skull, and Summer Solstice - Bee Stings...they were all great. Live Two also included a version of Amethyst Deceivers

Oops there I go posting to soon!
Surely MTPITD Vol 2 needs to come first!

I have the original CDs, but the remaster of the first was actually really nice, and now I want an updated 2!

agree

h/t to StanM for uncovering/discovering these (crossposted from the Ambient Recommendations thread)

https://coh-official.bandcamp.com/

8 Soisong broadcasts have been released already this year - by Ivan Pavlov (COH), not clear how many of this was made when Peter Christopherson was still alive but they're interesting and quite magical at times. Some fleeting beats, 60s chansons or Asian pop songs may also drift in and out, but I'd classify this as ambient, overall.

they are extremely cool and mysterious, a great listen

Communist Hockey Goblin (sleeve), Monday, 25 October 2021 17:37 (two years ago) link

just listened to all 8 on a row and I feel like I've been on an acid trip

Communist Hockey Goblin (sleeve), Monday, 25 October 2021 22:01 (two years ago) link

*in* a row

- Last of the Soisong broadcasts is scheduled in a couple of days btw
- so... MTPITD2 next week on Dais, then? I can't seem to find any preorder/news?

StanM, Saturday, 20 November 2021 20:05 (two years ago) link

I looked today too - nothing yet. And I want one of those snazzy new shirts but I'd rather bundle it with an LP!

Paul Ponzi, Saturday, 20 November 2021 20:52 (two years ago) link

Listened to the WaxTrax LSD reissue again last night, what a great sounding pressing. I can't imagine that the original LP didn't include Things Happen. A highlight of the album for me.

The booklet with interviews and some great context/production info is really well done.

Such a shame it didn't get a UK/EU release but I'm 100% happy I went with this release. Maybe Waxtrax could add the booklet .pdf to the Bandcamp digital release.

my opinionation (Hamildan), Sunday, 21 November 2021 13:31 (two years ago) link

Not only is the final Soisong broadcast expected to happen tomorrow, there's also an album coming December 20th:

Just finished the principal recordings of the last Soisong album. Dunno how many on here are familiar with the name, but do you know the sense of "sad relief"? Quite peculiar.. 🤔😅

Rats. A bad day for me to sleep late. Guess it's the Red Insomnia wax for me. I know the glow in the dark vinyl will probably sound like ass (Dais has a disclaimer on their page that suggests they know this, too) but I still think it would have been cool to have, especially since I'll probably also buy the CD anyway
