A relative signed my kids up for this Jewish Holiday box thing that (1) never actually arrives in time for the holiday and (2) just isn't that well put together, like trying very hard to be a modern yet child-friendly take on tradition but just not connecting with kids at all. But the worst part is that the startup making these (which turns out to be Israeli) claims to offer these for multiple cultures, but the other culture options are "Chinese" and "Indian" as though those are somehow analogues to "Jewish." A very provincial interpretation of multiculturalism that struck me as peculiarly Israeli.

It was crazy.

Secret menu. Achievements you could unlock. And then there were the discounts.

I was earning a free taco with each order, but the catch was that the freebie expired in 48 hours. Like hell was I going to go to Taco Bell even once a month, especially not three times a week.
