Please note the South Park mojo dojos sandwiched between "God Bless America" and "Rhapsody In Blue". I love it.

Andy Partridge is better than Elvis Costello.

basically if you're not at least somewhat in awe of Sondheim I may love you but I still think you kinda suck

note to self: before mom dies, tell her that she is forgiven for her Barry Manilow phase due to the fact that she also played "Side by Side by Sondheim" for me

also there's a bit near the beginning of no. 3 that sounds a lot like the part in Barcelona:

ROBERT:
You're just a very special girl,
June!

APRIL:
April.

ROBERT:
April.

APRIL:
Thank you.

Images: No. 2 Iberia: Par les rues et par les… too very reminiscent. acc to a bio:

When told by an admirer that his music sounded as thought influenced by Debussy, Sondheim responded, "It's Ravel more than Debussy." And indeed the cooler, more analytical Ravel does suit Sondheim more than does the warmer, more impressionistic Debussy (though he owned more Debussy than Ravel, in part because Debussy wrote more than Ravel).

S.S. loathed Gaga singing Rodgers & Hammerstein, and has a 36-yo bf who's gotten him into Radiohead. Oh well, 1-for-2.

No, not Radiohead. So tired of them being the lone hipster pop choice of classical, jazz and broadway snobs.
