The remake of Working Girl with Jessica Simpson is simply so awful that it has blotted out all other fish out of water stories from my memory. I watched it for free on the internet, but that's still not really a valid excuse for watching it.

- Of these, Coming to America, which is seriously best watched with actual Africans who have actually just come to America (seriously)
- Daytrippers was awesome, and I like seeing people say that, because it seems like one of those things where someone makes an awesome movie in part by keeping it simple, but then you kinda worry that its small-scale simpleness will make everyone forget it or deem it unimportant
- After Hours only counts if you consider downtown to be the big city and uptown to be the water that fish live in, which, to be fair, this film attempts to make a case for (or was this just some kind of subtle Gabbneb zing? I can't even tell anymore)

My girlfriend and I will graduate college this May and will move to New York City. Our jobs are already lined up and waiting for us as is acceptance to a self-study graduate educational program at The New School. We are going to work at the Metropolitan Museum on the Upper East Side. I have a family member who is close to someone on the Board of Directors.
So we have school and work awaiting us but the apartment we had fell through. We were going to take over one of my girlfriends older relatives rent stabilized two bedroom in the West Village but that fell through because (sigh) this woman was supposed to go to a nursing home but got better and will stay in her building. That is kinda weird because she NEVER goes out or DOES anything and the apartment is wasted on her.
My girlfriend’s parents just divorced and gave her the house she grew up in which she is going to rent out for $1200 a month. That will be like our housing budget. We need the money we earn to support our lifestyle. We are not going to eat ramen noodles and go out to the Oliver Garden in our Wall Mart Wardrobe.
We are heavy into the indie music and film scene and that takes money. We can not afford to pay a broker’s fee and we need a parking lot for a compact car. Its just a Jetta (economize where I can).
We want to be in the village walking to the L train since we might have reason to go to Williamsburg if there are people or activities who might advance ourselves. Also, we could offer tha favor of letting people useful to us crash at our Manhattan pad.
It’s all about location and what I deserve. My mom always taught me that I deserve the best in life. Where you are located has a lot to do with that. I always made sure I took the best seat in class. I always made sure I lived in the cool dorms. I got free housing in the best quad as an RA.
An Apartment is vital to setting up the right social life for us. We are part of the scene of men and women in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter. Although people like us can be found all over, in the outer boroughs, we should be part of the vanguard and THAT is only in Manhattan, which is the cosmopolitan centers of the world.
My girlfriend and I epitomize the state of mind;it is also often intertwined with distinct fashion sensibilities. We reject the culturally ignorant attitudes of mainstream consumers, and are often be seen wearing vintage and thrift store inspired fashions, tight-fitting jeans, old-school sneakers, and sometimes thick rimmed glasses. We sport similar androgynous hairstyles that include combinations of messy shag cuts and asymmetric side-swept bangs.
Our sense of style is often associated with the work of creative stylists at urban salons, and are usually too "edgy" for the culturally sheltered mainstream consumer. We exude a "effortless cool" urban bohemian looks exemplified in Urban Outfitters and American Apparel ads that cater towards our demographic.
We are going to have liberal arts degrees, which also require certain creative analytical thinking abilities. We can find a cool affordable place to live if we put our minds to it. We will be employed but our parent's trust funds will be for our retirements.
We will have some extra income as I did in college, through a cousin I am associated with many scientific testing companies for which I can lure and trap ferral cats for laboratory testing. I get $20 per. I create a network of other trappers ( I learned the trade hunting with other relatives in Minn.) and split the feww with them.
So if you know where ferral cats are to be found let me know. I get the traps for free so it would be a pure $20 per cat caught for YOU.
If YOU can provide us with a lead that enables us to get our apartment we are prepared to reward you immensely. You will be considered are friend and have a ticket of admission to our social life. We always manage to attract cool people and create our own exclusive clique or pinnace as a subset of the larger scene. Help us create it in NYC (Manhattan ONLY) and YOU may have a chance to participate in that.
