Like there are definite similarities between parts of L.A. and parts of Oakland architecturally and in terms of like, landscaping and plants. Like, if the street signs had been green and in the font Oakland uses for street signs and the names were familiar, I could have been convinced that it was shot in Oakland ... I mean, if someone told me that the shopping district street scenes were shot on Lakeshore Ave and they just photoshopped the L.A. signs and cut away to the fancier stores, I wouldn't say it was impossible ...

in the interview linked above she talks about the l.a. video shoot and how she had moved to l.a. three years earlier. sounds like it was all shot in l.a. including the apartment stuff (at the "orsini". the interview is worth a read! she sounds like a pretty cool person honestly).
