Yes, this was one of my favorite pandemic year discoveries. Totally unique and totally captivating music.

sampled a few of the tracks from her 2016 album and then started listening to this. after the first two tracks I felt this wasn’t really for me, yes, pretty cool, but not something I was going to go back to - and then “Everydaywehustlin” happened. wow. wow. wow. “Palm Groove”also amazing. went back to those first tracks, but they still didn’t do it for me. will probably give them another chance yet tho, because holy hell, “Everydaywehustlin” and “Palm Groove”...

Interesting — I had the inverse experience with it, really excited by the first two tracks then found the latter ones kind of innocuous. Want to spend more time tho

a bit more about the artist and the project/album here: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/emeka-ogboh-album-1927039
“It was a complete fluke,” the artist tells Artnet News. “They were surprised that I had never realized an album before, though I don’t think of myself as a musician or a producer.”
he also has quite an extensive Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emeka_Ogboh

Breastcrawl! Hi.
I like this, but it didn't make my list because I didn't come back to it enough.

These new tracks are dope. Beyond The Yellow Haze was one of my favorite albums of 2018 and this one sounds like it's going to be just as good. After two spins of the preview tracks, I decided to bite the bullet and pay the $60 to order the LP, but there seems to be a problem with the Danfotronics Bandcamp page. Hopefully it's fixed soon. I think I need this one.

album is out, and it’s very much a continuation of Beyond The Yellow Haze, but maybe more intense? I’m especially referring to the 9’+ track with Lagos street/traffic sounds and very little else.it’s also completely different from Beyond… in that it features an *extremely* percussive track that’s one of the most exciting pieces of music I’ve heard in some time. I’d link it here, but it’s not (yet?) on YouTube. code word “No Counterfeit”. don’t miss out, don’t let it pass you by!
