I suspect I love a few songs that belong here and I've just filed them on my hard drive under power pop. Would take a lot of time figuring out which ones are which.

Example: I have four Lilys songs, including the one you posted, which to my ears doesn't sound all that different from this--but maybe there's some crucial difference I don't hear.

I absolutely LOVE Fudge and was trying to promote them on one of the "lost 90s bands" sort of threads I'd revived not long ago! That song doesn't exactly follow the same strum pattern that I was trying to zero in on specifically here, but the band is definitely a big deal in this little universe of 90s indie I'm obsessed with.

That rhythm honestly makes me think of this, which is maybe at the front end of the era of this strum.

xp indie rock with guitar processed into textures, and vocals mixed lower than guitars often

genre name obviously highlighting the centrality of effects pedals to the sound

Very probably, I blame years of entrenched ILX indie-hatred.

I'm sure we could recommend some albums based on what you already like, if you were open to giving it a shot.
