this is all i could find but pretty sure there was something out there about the jays getting a talking to

Brad Stevens on the Celtics shot profile: “It’s gotta improve.”

Said that doesn’t just mean shooting more 3s, but layups and dunks too. He thought “almost all” of the Celtics 3s today were the right shot at the right time.

hmm, i think i'm going to follow him regardless based on this tweet

I will just remind the NBA media that there is a very distinguished award called "All-NBA" and not every great player having a good stretch needs "MVP Love." https://t.co/yDkD489Y7M

lol yes, there does not need to be more than like 3 people in the mvp race

class project pat (m bison), Friday, 30 April 2021 04:26 (three years ago) link

i agree with that and would list them as Jokic/Embiid/Paul

Draymond is "Mr Dumpy" (forksclovetofu), Friday, 30 April 2021 05:54 (three years ago) link

chris paul is simply not having nearly a statistically mvp caliber season, 16-5-9 49/39/93 lol cmon, anyone crediting him with total responsibility for the suns record should consider that they won every one of their games in the bubble

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 12:54 (three years ago) link

yeah I love paul but I don’t think he’s be one of my top 10 candidates

k3vin k., Friday, 30 April 2021 13:46 (three years ago) link

i’ve heard paul for mvp at least twice in the discourse recently although one of those was one of the goober ex-players during a broadcast

call all destroyer, Friday, 30 April 2021 13:56 (three years ago) link

goober otm

celtics are so much better with rob

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 15:55 (three years ago) link

pls stay healthy rob

call all destroyer, Friday, 30 April 2021 15:55 (three years ago) link

they celtics have been so careful with their guys health this year which the particularities of this season considered is probably wise now lets see what they got

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 15:57 (three years ago) link

shorten the rotation play the guys get rolling IMHO

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 15:59 (three years ago) link

maybe even let kemba play a back to back is that crazy

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 15:59 (three years ago) link

i haven’t really paid attention to playoff seeding but if they needed some wins to secure a spot out of the play in or something i’d think about it.

call all destroyer, Friday, 30 April 2021 16:02 (three years ago) link

theyre a game out of 5th and two out of 4th, and both the teams ahead of them knicks and hawks have been playing well, getting one of those spots and avoiding the easts big 3 in the first round would be good, also getting some reps/getting rolling would be good too

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 16:07 (three years ago) link

tatum
brown
kemba
smart
rob
-----
fournier
pritchard
thompson
nesmith

not that bad!

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 16:07 (three years ago) link

brad has shortened his rotations a few times this year when they were struggling and needed a win, including wednesdays game where he played 8 guys, so he def knows its possible

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 16:10 (three years ago) link

jabari parker’s an option too

One Of The Bad Guys (Tracer Hand), Friday, 30 April 2021 16:35 (three years ago) link

yeah if you need bench scoring he can do some stuff, which is a good option to have for sure, but i dont think hes in the regular playoff rotation his defense is just non existent

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 16:38 (three years ago) link

semi romeo and kornet could also get some spot play but they all have such huge holes in their games that theyre prob more situational options

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 16:54 (three years ago) link

backup wing is def the problem spot, fourier can take some of those minutes but hes really more of a guard, semi can hit wide open 3s and play d, romeo can handle the ball a little and play d, hopefully nesmiths emerging play can continue emerging cause his game actually has all the stuff you want from a secondary wing hit a variety of 3s, play d, attack closeouts, keep the ball moving...

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 17:00 (three years ago) link

hes got size athleticism strength switchablity, ie the nba body

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 17:03 (three years ago) link

also hes scrappy as hell, im liking nesmith, but hes a rookie whos played mostly like doodoo this year so

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 17:04 (three years ago) link

with rob pritchard and nesmith dannys recent drafts are looking a little better, romeo could still be good too but he needs to stay healthy and actually play, so far just hasnt done anything at all on offense

lag∞n, Friday, 30 April 2021 17:05 (three years ago) link

parker, romeo and kornet have the potential to find playoff matchup moments where they might help win games
i would not be surprised if pritchaht has a breakout herro moment in the first/second round.

Draymond is "Mr Dumpy" (forksclovetofu), Friday, 30 April 2021 17:36 (three years ago) link

scal goes on about the weirdest stuff sometimes, like he just spent two minutes killing pritchard for not doing a good enough job boxing out jakob poeltl even though he clearly did his best and jakob is just a massive human being

call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 May 2021 01:40 (three years ago) link

yeah he was like watch film of smart, who is much bigger and stronger btw

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 01:42 (three years ago) link

take your example from the guy who is probably the best guard at defending up in the nba

call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 May 2021 01:44 (three years ago) link

right

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 01:45 (three years ago) link

pretty good comeback btw

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 01:50 (three years ago) link

With just over 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter tonight, Jayson Tatum had 30 points, over the next 15 minutes of action, he scored 30 more points.

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 04:36 (three years ago) link

jason tatum is good at basketball

Draymond is "Mr Dumpy" (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 1 May 2021 04:37 (three years ago) link

with games of 60, 53, and 44 xp

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 04:38 (three years ago) link

i was thinking about why nesmith has looked so good in the past two games and one thing just observationally is that he seems to be doing a lot more slashing, cutting, going for rebounds, etc.

even when you are drafting someone to be a good shooter, i wonder if it makes sense to get them involved doing those things and just running around playing basketball vs standing in the corner and pinning everything on whether the shot goes in or not.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 1 May 2021 14:01 (three years ago) link

hes been VERY active for sure, good stuff

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 14:48 (three years ago) link

and yeah gotta think running around doing stuff is better than standing in the corner on a number of levels

lag∞n, Saturday, 1 May 2021 14:50 (three years ago) link

Jayson Tatum is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

not the most heartening play to see at the end of a weird loss lol

lag∞n, Monday, 3 May 2021 19:44 (three years ago) link

I wasn't too worried about it until I read that Jaylen was screaming in pain as he hopped to the locker room. Hindsight is 2020 but nagl when your 2 best players collide and get hurt down 7(?) with 40 seconds to play

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Monday, 3 May 2021 19:49 (three years ago) link

everyone was talking like they were fine after the game, havent heard anything since tho

lag∞n, Monday, 3 May 2021 19:51 (three years ago) link

not bad for a shortened season in which he got long covid

Per the Celtics, Jayson Tatum is the first Celtic to win Player of the Week three times in a season since Kevin Garnett in 2007-08.

world is a fuck

Brad Stevens said Robert Williams is out tonight with turf toe. He’s meeting with specialists to see the best course of action. Stevens said Williams almost sat Wednesday. Isn’t sure what his availability will be over the next week. As Stevens said, turf toe lingers.

pretty insane given how big these next two games are that the heat and celts haven’t played since that payton prichard tip in which feels like half a decade ago. not sure how that’s possible

J0rdan S., Saturday, 8 May 2021 17:47 (three years ago) link

The Celtics have now allowed three 70-point first halves over their last five games.

not a great season for the ol boston celtics!

Big loss for Boston. Celtics say All-Star Jaylen Brown was diagnosed with a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist and will require surgery that sidelines him for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
