Best or worst? And do I have to listen before voting?

Yes to both questions.

Your vote counts double if it is based solely on the critical discourse!

Tramp Stamp has a female vocalist, so I’ll automatically pick them
― beamish13, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 22:23 (three years ago) link
I was trying to pinpoint which specific late 90s/early 00s pop-punk song "I'd Rather Die" reminded me of. The correct answer is probably "a bunch of them put together" but I think the melody in "with another Ryan" was making me think of "my car is in the front yard" from Lit's "My Own Worst Enemy".
― Sequel to Sadness (Sund4r), Thursday, 22 April 2021 00:11 (three years ago) link
Yeah, they're both mi-do-do-re-mi-do in the same rhythm - Lit in E, Tramp Stamps in F.

fuck you for making me need to now go listen to (1) a band called tramp stamps (2) that presumably sounds like GVF. fuck you man.
― longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 12:18 (three years ago) link
Man, Tramp Stamps is awful. I vote Tramp Stamps.
― longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 12:20 (three years ago) link
Tramp Stamps at least wrote a song with an idea behind it. I think if they were slightly better songwriters it might not even be bad, it's just executed in kind of a clunky way.
― longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 12:26 (three years ago) link
I have not heard any Tramp Stamps.
― Pfunkboy AKA (Oor Neechy), Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:27 (three years ago) link
try it, you'll love it!
― rob, Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:28 (three years ago) link
what these two bands really have in common is that I have nothing at all to say about their music
― Camaraderie at Arms Length, Thursday, 22 April 2021 13:29 (three years ago) link
Posting twice when you have nothing to say is 100% in the spirit of this thread and highly encouraged.

I prefer Greta Van Stamps and Tramp Fleet

The Von Tramp Family
― longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:23 (three years ago) link
I still need to listen to Tramp Stamps before I vote, but I just want to remind everybody that Greta Van Fleet took their name from an elderly woman in their hometown named Gretna Van Fleet.
Greta.
Gretna.
That is all.

i dont even own a tramp stamp

― Pfunkboy AKA (Oor Neechy), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:42 (three years ago) link
i'd assumed there was at least a camper van beethoven-esque "van fleet" joke in there

The Tramp Stamps thread is more interesting the Greta Van Fleet thread. Nonetheless, I abstain.
― Halfway there but for you, Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:58 (three years ago) link
leaning toward the music of "Tramp Stamps" being worse because i can understand the lyrics
― devil sticks in trench coat (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 22 April 2021 15:59 (three years ago) link
'how much we bone' etc
Ok, done my listening. Greta Van Fleet makes me feel angry and superior while Tramp Stamps make me feel sad and uncomfortable.

how much is Sund4r billing for these sessions?

Less cock rock and more Sum 41 than Donnas, but not a terrible starting point.

the difference between tramp stamps and all the bands they are being compared to on this and the other thread is that the other bands are all at least interesting to listen to, and tramp stamps are not at all.yes, three times.

I listened to a Tramp Stamps song and it's fucking abysmal but I refuse to even listen to Greta Van Fleet, so Tramp Stamps win.

They remind me a bit of early 90s rock radio, which is a better memory than early 00s rock radio.

GVF singer should bring it down a few octaves for the late ‘90s post-grunge rumble.
