Just heard a shoutout to Morbs on WFMU Give the Drummer radio (one of my favourite and daily stations now). DJ Stork played a Noel Coward tune "in honour of Bill Weber". Im sure they've done loads of these but I was glad to catch one live.

I ate pancakes for a late, leisurely Sunday breakfast. Thought of Morbs as I did.

I never had a chance to do much drinking with him - he was into the Polish beer?

I haven't a clue what his fave booze was. It's just that a crate of Tyskie cans landed on my doorstep yesterday so that's what I'll be raising to his memory!

He wasn't much into spirits -- he stuck to beer.

five months pass...

Bill has been gone one year ago today. Watch a classic comedy in his honor. Might I suggest It Happened Tomorrow (René Clair, 1944)? it's on YouTube here.

Colin Powell's RIPs are not the same without his take.

... (Eazy), Thursday, 21 October 2021 18:00 (two years ago) link

Think about him all the time, not sure what to say about it. Sometimes think about how to explain to outsiders: “you see my dead gay friend from the internet. Some of my best friends are gay internet friends. Which is exactly what a homophobe might say, but…”

Spending my afternoon working on a John Hughes-centric portion of my dissertation, which Morbs would undoubtedly grumble at. Miss you, man.

I think about him a lot, in fact I can hear him now. With a bit of distance from his irascibility it's more and more clear how much he loved justice and beauty and everyone, and how fiercely. Miss you, Bill.
