An unexpected viewpoint!

“I really like to watch football!” she declares. “Strange, maybe, but I think it’s very relaxing. When I used to tour here in the UK a lot, my whole crew were Tottenham fans, so we just ended up watching a lot of (their) games,” she explains, referring back to touring the ‘Body Talk’ trilogy. Across the course of 2010, Robyn binned off conventional album releases, and instead dropped three mini-records in a single year. The tour that followed was her final outing as a solo artist for eight years. “I was like, ok, this is my team,” she says. “Tottenham at that time really sucked, they were one of the worst teams ever.”

“I like that they really sucked, and they’ve battled back!” Robyn adds proudly. “They’re not giving up! If you meet these big teams, with all this celebrity and money, and star players, you have to own up to it, and not let go of your idea of yourself. They’re underdogs.”

PSG - goodbye mbappe, hello Harry Kane..this is possible, right?

Swanswans, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 06:48 (two years ago) link

kane's not gonna want to go abroad. tbf have zero sympathy for star players who sign long contracts without release clauses esp when at the time they had more than enough leverage not to do so. so if levy is stubborn kane
can blame himself and his agent. city on the verge of winning 3 out of the 4 trophies available to them so spending 150m on fee plus wages for a 28 yr old with dodgy ankles who'll probably get crocked at the euros seems strange to me.

Chelsea in need of a reliable goalscorer.

City, who have just sealed their third Premier League title in four years, are not the only club in for Kane but would be one of the most attractive options and are believed to have registered their interest more recently. While Kane was with the England squad in March, he is said to have asked the City players present what their lives were like, living in the north west. So much so that after the international break, those players were left with one very clear impression: that Kane was set for a move to the Etihad Stadium

It'll be interesting to see how many concrete offers there will be if Haaland and possibly Mbappe are also moving this summer.

Even with £100m+ in transfer fees, idk how Spurs could come anywhere close to replacing him. I can't imagine Immobile or Dybala are going to be swayed by Europa Conference League football under Scotty Parker.

if u bozos don't secure Potter asap ur dumb imo

Id want it to go straight into stadium debt tbh, anything that hastens enic selling

flagpost fucking (darraghmac), Tuesday, 18 May 2021 09:02 (two years ago) link

Potter preferable to Parker, for sure, though the manager who got the most out of the worst squad was probably Allardyce, even if nobody is ready for that conversation.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Tuesday, 18 May 2021 09:08 (two years ago) link

agree he's hard to replace for Tottenham...and there's a lot of ways to squander to squander 100MIL, spurs have form..

Swanswans, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 22:27 (two years ago) link

150 mil scattergunned across say five positions where we are most in need would be fine, if the hit rate was ok (hasnt been in years) but what im hungriest for is seven or eight of that squad gone, at any price.

Raise 250m, spend it all, potter in, maybe id still care in august

Tottenham started planning for Kane's exit in February and explored the possibility of signing in-demand Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 20, from Borussia Dortmund. (Mail)

Back to the good old days of ‘being linked to’ a dozen players who are more likely to quit and take up chess than sign.

Two new CBs, cover for Hojbjerg, a decent CF and maybe a creative midfielder would improve the balance but Darragh is absolutely correct that half of the current team needs to leave.

I'd want most of Sanchez, Alderweireld, Doherty, Aurier, Winks, Bale, Hart, Dier, Sissoko, Davies and Vinicius to be elsewhere next season.

Official, confirmed. Fraser Forster joins Tottenham as free agent on a two year deal, second signing after Ivan Perisić. ⚪️ #THFC

Forster will be the new backup goalkeeper to replace Gollini.

The Times is reporting Spurs have agreed a £25m fee for Bissouma, presumably discounted on account of his ongoing police investigation.

That’s £20m less than Brighton had previously asked iirc. Doesn’t seem a great idea under the circumstances however much of an upgrade he is on Hojbjerg.
