highlight packagers love buzzer beaters which is lame cause out of context theyre mostly just normal plays but when youre watching highlights you want to see cool plays

yeah. there are proper buzzer beaters like that dame shot to beat the rockets in the playoffs years ago and there are game winners like tony snell hitting a normal three with a few seconds left on the clock.

zero chance that snell shot is cooler than dame’s three to beat the bulls a month or so ago

omg horrendous officiating at the end of grizz/nuggets

bizarre ending to nuggs/grizz, jokic makes an insane lefty across the body runner to put the nuggs up 4 with like 20 seconds left, grizz 3 to pull within 1, jokic gets blocked, then with 6 seconds left ja morant ?gets fouled? which the ref seemed to call with his left hand but then jokic gets the rebound and also gets fouled which the ref called with his right hand?? then the nuggets win

that final no call on ja's drive looks downright corrupt tbh - like the ref almost forgot to make sure the nuggs won

grizz inbounding down 1 with 6 seconds. they get it to ja in the paint, he goes in to jokic's body while shooting, whistle blows and baseline official raises his hand with the foul call. but then they decide the foul is against the grizz on dillon brooks running into jokic trying to get the rebound. replay clearly shows baseline official's hand raised well before brooks touches jokic. game over, nuggets win.

i don't think nba officiating is generally all that bad but it's plays like that which really erode confidence

looked like ja was playing for the foul there, not a great play since they let so much go at the end of games, and really not a great play to jump horizontally to try to draw it which also doesnt have a good shot at getting the call, gotta get the contact on the floor or on the way up, just flinging yrself at a guy is the classic westbrook prayer lol, looked like he had a dece look for a floater from ten feet

As far as I can tell this is entirely because the ref signaled verticality and the Memphis announcers are homers and thought it was a foul signal
