Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 14 March 2021 22:35 (three years ago) link

makes it easier for me that films beyond the top 25 are unranked

Dan S, Sunday, 14 March 2021 23:04 (three years ago) link

just hard to decide what to include in the top 25

Dan S, Sunday, 14 March 2021 23:05 (three years ago) link

Yeah it stings to cut it down to say 40 and then 25, and let the spare 15 sink down into the rest.

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 14 March 2021 23:11 (three years ago) link

Eric, did you get my ballot this time? I sent it on March 6.

Cherish, Monday, 15 March 2021 00:40 (three years ago) link

i voted. i voted.

wasdnuos (abanana), Monday, 15 March 2021 02:03 (three years ago) link

flappy bird, Monday, 15 March 2021 04:39 (three years ago) link

I did, Cherish!

Sorry, I've been out of pocket these last few days, but I'll work on getting all of those ballots added and the master list updated.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 16:35 (three years ago) link

may I still send one, hun?

So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 16:47 (three years ago) link

Of course; I am seriously not closing this until April, at this rate.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:03 (three years ago) link

can i resubmit if i see anything lifechanging before april

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:39 (three years ago) link

Absolutely. I welcome revisions.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:40 (three years ago) link

hell yeah, i finally feel up to my long-planned morbs memorial watch of the searchers

davey, Friday, 19 March 2021 12:07 (three years ago) link

What was morbs fave film?

Oor Neechy, Friday, 19 March 2021 12:30 (three years ago) link

The Waterboy iirc

So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 March 2021 12:45 (three years ago) link

Directed by Jerry Lewis, yeah

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Friday, 19 March 2021 14:48 (three years ago) link

does it matter which one of the duplicates shows up on a ballot? sometimes vote counters on here are specific about that and just wonderin

billstevejim, Friday, 19 March 2021 14:55 (three years ago) link

When I enter them in, the master sheet is alphabetically organized, so if there's a double, I'll see it.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Friday, 19 March 2021 17:58 (three years ago) link

Almost all of the doubles mentioned upthread were Morbs ballot additions that I added at the last minute (minus Robot Monster), and most of them have been dealt with.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Friday, 19 March 2021 18:05 (three years ago) link

Redos, right? I forgot a necessary Spike Lee movie, among others.

flappy bird, Thursday, 25 March 2021 08:00 (three years ago) link

Yup! Feel free to submit revisions.

Also, as a reminder to everyone, please indicate your ILX username with your submitted ballot.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Thursday, 25 March 2021 12:35 (three years ago) link

Is it too late to submit something?

Dan Worsley, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 16:57 (three years ago) link

Not at all. This poll remains an open-ended prospect indefinitely, but it's feeling increasingly likely that I won't actually close it until the end of spring or thereabouts.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 16:59 (three years ago) link

Got a day off tomorrow, will try and put a list, 10-12 should be my submission

xyzzzz__, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 17:34 (three years ago) link

So out curiosity, what criteria are people using in putting ballots together? There's the old "favorite" vs. "best" conundrum, but also are folks deliberately aiming for, say, diversity across decades, nationalities, etc, or just, like, listing every Judd Apatow movie?

a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 17:47 (three years ago) link

I always list favourites, don't even think about what's important. I dropped a few old ones I've seen way too many times and replaced them with stuff I've come to love within the past five years.

clemenza, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:04 (three years ago) link

Yeah. Worry about self-pleausure in every sense.

So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:05 (three years ago) link

I tried to do a personal list, too. Hopefully this doesn't mean there is no consensus!

Halfway there but for you, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:17 (three years ago) link

Another reason I'm waiting to collate (other than my work life just being insane lately) is so that we don't just have a series of 12-way ties, if at all possible. Only getting in excess of 25-30 ballots will hopefully ensure that won't happen.
