well, yeah. he went out of his way to embrace the worst possible position on every social and political issue - just short of criminal or civil culpability. it was his trademark.

Calling that Taibbi tweet (and the linked essay) a "defense" of Rush Limbaugh isn't a fair reading.

i don't think taibbi's doing an accurate reading of rush limbaugh either

takes a very selective memory to believe for even the briefest seconds that limbaugh had an "anti-establishment" pov even if he ultimately characterizes it as an act

it's just very fucking insultingly dumb

there's zero reason to give matt taibbi the benefit of the doubt on anything

show that tweet to anyone who grew up gay in a household that listened to rush limbaugh and they would prob suggest that matt taibbi should stop shitting through his fingers
