England's Hidden Reverse is essential IMO, and I absolutely hate Keenan's writing, style, and opinions on music. It's still essential.

They should put that as a quote on the cover.

I picked up a copy of Wreckers Of Civilisation at a car boot sale that was £1. I say, picked up - the seller then proceeded to surreptitiously check the price online and said they actually wouldn't be selling it.

Oh and I couldn't resist pre-ordering that reissue of LSD despite the fact that I'd already pre-ordered the Infinite Fog reissue of same (which I guess we can now conclude is not 100% legit?). I suppose I can have fun in June comparing the two pressings like a nerd, which will undoubtedly hasten my descent into insufferable SHF-esque audiophile hell

I don't have any special knowledge, tbh, I'm only saying this since Coil bootlegs are rampant (I mean, I have mediocre LPs of LSD, Scatology and Horse Rotorvator and I KNOW those aren't legit) and out of kneejerk reaction to a label based in Russia- there's a lot of stupid Russophobia out there, sure, but it's also a territory where IP law is notoriously lax.

I mean, I'm browsing Sounds of the Universe now and they stock Infinite Fog releases? Who knows...

Then again, after some poking around, they work with Danny Hyde and Stephen Stapleton, so

i think like many Coil releases the legitimacy of the licensing is debateable but they probably believe what they are doing is ok. It is a moral maze.

Just saw that Strange Attractor Press are selling some old hardback stock of Englands Hidden Reverse for £50 and will be reprinting the paperback in 2022 so no need to pay crazy prices.

I got an update email from Infinite Fog that this is indeed just another version of their re-issue (insert shoulder shrug emoji)

Reposting this from a Coil thread on another forum, regarding the waxtrax version. Response from someone involved in the LSD repress/remaster.

Ours (Wax Trax!) is remastered by Josh Bonati and is already up on streaming so you can hear just how fucking awesome it sounds. As for legit, we’re working with Stephen Thrower & Ossian Brown and Balance’s family, with input and insight by Annie Anxiety, Rose McDowall, Marc Almond, Charles Hayward, Steve Stapleton & Billy McGee and have received encouragement & materials from Thighps, Drew & others along the way. And we’re paying royalties to the artists or their families.

We are not using the same plant that Cocksure was pressed at

I just sent a message to Wax Trax! to ask whether they're going to have any EU distribution for the 2LP LSD edition, would definitely like to get that one but I've had bad experiences with shipments from US recently. I'll let you know if I receive any info.

Global mail has been so messed up over the last year. i frequently have to organise shipments out of Germany. A while back it was not possible to ship from Germany to New Zealand. I still don't know why. i had to ship Germany > Scotland > NZ. I also had to have a package sent from Germany to New York. It left Cologne on December 10th and i just heard it reached Staten Island post office today. Madness!

Got my stimbus, preordered the Wax Trax edition- after some waffling, went with the piss yellow vinyl (excuse me, "amber"), hopefully we're far enough past colored vinyl being inferior quality that I can enjoy it in peace

soleilmoon sent me my copy of the infinite fog LSD reissue so i guess all the fash labels work together.

my CD copy has a hilariously dimly printed cover, really enhances the gray market/bootleg feel of the whole project.

Speaking of fashy labels, I've been reluctant to order stuff from Cold Spring's Discogs page because of their associations with all kinds of unpleasantness. Are Cold Spring still mixed up in all that or are they OK now?

Same here (NL), was notified of the shipment by mail early this month and received it a couple days later

... and it's fine - remaster sounds better than my original CD, booklet contains lyrics and short bits by Steven Stapleton and Danny Hyde, artwork maybe a bit darker than I would have liked, square poster of the cover art. Bonus CD - had to get it because I'm a completionist but these alt versions, while sometimes interesting, are always disappointing in the end, aren't they?

A month till my WaxTrax LSD pressing gets sent, so the message up thread has lessenned my regret at not going for the nearer and cheaper Infinite fog release.

I was interested in the ColdSpring Coil compilation I saw advertised, but if they are a label with some unpleasant connections, I'll save my money and ask if there are any homemade introductions to Coil, I should look out for?

bought MTPITDV1 on LP a few weeks ago, to support a local record store, so thats been a lovely listen whilst waiting for a parcel with a chicago postmark.
