you aren't willing to accept the offensive line had any blame
Please point out where I said that. I'll wait. Mahomes' sucktitude and the weakness of the Chiefs' O line aren't mutually exclusive, you know. He knows he played poorly. "I'm going to look at the film and try to find ways to get better," he said after the game. And he will. He's a great quarterback and competitor who should, barring injuries, win several rings. Just don't tell me there's no way he could have played well last night due to the Chiefs' O line, Tampa's defense, the referee's calls or whatever. That's a loser's attitude.
Starting watching football long before I knew who Miles Davis was, but thanks.

Patrick Mahomes: "I thought I did a good job toward the end of the season of being more efficient,'' he said. "Obviously I didn't do that in the Super Bowl, but I'm going to try to find ways to better myself that way. Just being more efficient, taking what's there, especially when these teams are playing such deep coverages against us."It's something I've got to battle with because I've got such an aggressive nature and want to have the big play. But as I watch the film and really study myself, I'll have to get better at that so I can be a better quarterback at the end of the day.''https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30862059/patrick-mahomes-kansas-city-chiefs-super-bowl-lv-loss-motivate-rest-career
He's accepted the obvious fact he didn't play well, so I don't know why taking him to task is such a big deal.

what did you expect him to say? "my team sucks and i'm sick of carrying their sorry asses"?
― tiwa-nty one savage (voodoo chili), Monday, 8 February 2021 21:23 (three years ago) link
yeah those are standard lines for the losing QB. real "my greatest weakness is I try too hard" kinda shit. he talks about "taking what's there", but...again...there was nothing there!!

any one of us would have played much better than mahomes

KC used 5 man protection on 92% of dropbacks (48 of 52). They left those two backup OT's w/o help & it was a big mistake. h/t @NextGenStats— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) February 8, 2021

they were never gonna have kelce block and there's only so much a pass-protecting rb can do against 4 rampaging d-linemen

if 4 of the 5 Bucs rushing linemen are in the backfield every down, it's more than the tackles who are struggling

yeah, colts have maybe the best o-line in the league? rivers was way better there than his last year with the chargers. so if wentz sucks this year he's unplayable.

Wentz went through so much in Philly, I could see a fresh start working wonders for him. and he's going to a good team that just below the cusp of greatness, so this could be a really good move for them.

sincerely bummed that the eagles didn't wind up trading wentz for nick foles

Vincent Jackson was a beast to try and tackle, he was like an prototype of those big fullback/TE like wideouts. Little 195 pound corners trying to cover that dude on a jump ball or bring down in the open field creating mismatches. Bucs' Mike Evans is also that type of wide out.
― earlnash, Friday, 5 March 2021 03:01 (three years ago) link
I can't think of Wentz being more talented than f'n Donvan McNabb let alone Randall Cunningham.
McNabb really screwed up his legacy as people totally bag on him all the time, that dude was freaking awesome early on in his career and with Jim Johnson's defense made the Eagles a killer team for nearly a decade.
― earlnash, Friday, 5 March 2021 03:03 (three years ago) link
cunningham as far as talent obvs in a tier of his own, macnabb was a very good to great quarterback but more on the high end of realized talent rather than being exceptionally talented
