Yeah! It's 'pay what you like', so you can't go wrong really. I've never attended Roadburn, sadly, but line-up wise it's always pretty much perfect.

Kinda surprised to hear gothic/death rock influenced metal coming from ex-Goreaphobia members but I dig this first song.

Shadows is a new dark avant-garde metal band from Immolation and ex-Goreaphobia guitarist Alex Bouks, who brought other former Goreaphobia members to the table. (...) It came out last year, so you can totally vote for it in the upcoming poll! I need to revisit it, though, as it was at the back of my mind when I (somewhat unfairly) said that Daniel Neagoe might be a little too prolific for his own good.

Also this is totally an insane hang-up of mine but I have a hard time with Romanians (and francophones) who sing in English, it just rubs my ears the wrong way.

Objectively a terrible way to listen to music tbh, but I can't help it.

It came out on CD today and I never heard it last year so it's a 2021 release for my pusposes.

That Jay/J. Randall stuff… he’s flown his flag as a reactionary dullard for a long time now. It’s a shame because his netlabel Grindcore Karaoke really spread the word for bands like Dead Neanderthals and Cloud Rat. But it is what it is.

Huh, guess I won't hold my breath for those other ANb EPs that were supposed to be written by other members. The one Kat wrote back before she left was pretty good, but again this helps give more context to why she left in the first place.

Haha oh yeah, it's certainly not a mood lifter. I don't think I "need" it either, but it's actually surprisingly cathartic at the moment.

The Body album is fantastic. "The City Is Shelled" has such an amazing build. But yeah as you can tell from that title, it's not really a warm hug of an album but they are so exciting sonically that their albums always leave me with a bit of hope.
