Presumably his coma was a lucid one and he used that spare time to come up with these twelve extra rules.

These rules also seem similar to the original 12.

They're like the first set of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier now, a monument to Western civilisation.

I think he should introduce some chaos into this volume. First book, you learn to overcome chaos; second version, you invite it back into your life, but you attempt to tame it.

Title could be like; bat out of hell 2, back into hell if that isn’t taken

the new rules are so boring. the chapter on rule 10 should be funny though just to get his thoughts on keeping it spicy in the bedroom (or whichever is the most beautiful room in your house)

there is apparently a book club at my job and i was sent a survey to vote on three potential books. one of them is Rules for Live An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B. Peterson. am i in a nightmare or is this real

yikes...that seems..very inappropriate for the workplace

yeah, like why would you read a book by a guy who became famous because he didn't want to use the correct pronouns for people (iirc? could be wrong) and blames women for sexual harassment at work. i'm not interested in participating in a work book club anyway so i wasn't sure if i should respond but it feels wrong.

Post all three books and make it a poll

I got so depressed seeing multiple copies of that book proudly displayed in a smiths bestseller window display a while back, alongside a couple of other right wing/anti-PC hits I can't remember- like oh shit this is mainstream now. his complete implosion since then is a very small consolation

the thing is i don't even know who is in the book club. this is the first time i've gotten the email. it may be a thing that they were doing irl and only just started again with everyone working from home. i started the job in june so i don't know anyone or anything. the survey was just the list of three books:

i don't know what those last two are but i am never reading a book called you are a badass. maybe it's some type of epic girlboss book, like a book about sheryl sandberg.

i just read an online synopsis but everybody else seemed to really enjoy reading them

It's also a remarkable distillation of American voluntarism.
