I know we've moved on, but my take on the $2,000 stimulus is that, while the Democratic messaging around it was definitely ambiguous and/or not quite unified, a lot of people outraged about it seem to be using it to confirm their preexisting belief that Democratic leadership is hopelessly awful. It feels like it's become a symbol or a talking point rather than a good-faith debate about the details of the relief bill.

Whatever covid relief bill passes, it will be done with reconciliation and it will contain whatever provisions the most timid of the 50 Dem senators is willing to vote for. Presumably Biden and Schumer will provide as many threats and sweeteners as they can muster to get all 50 ducks in a row. This wooing of blue dog Senate Democrats will be the theme song of this Congress.

my understanding is that the space force is basically just a rebranding of air force programs that already existed. seems like it's more about satellites than warfare in space or anything like that.
