new Tribulation as expected is high quality goth-pop metal, kinda like the last one.

the contrast between the colorful, hooky instrumentals and the one-dimensionally gruff and mean vocals is a big part of their appeal for me

I mean, thats been the vocal style he's used forever. shocked me at first but I love its uniqueness and passion. This album sounds more like the live show than a lot of their recent releases. I love it.

Tech death band from Belarus, Eximperitus for short. The new one is giving me some classic Nile vibes, but it's just a mammoth ride and doesn't overstay it's welcome at, like, 37 minutes.

Folk, neo-Romantic quasi blackgaze with passionate vocals, some lovely melodies and a uniquely prominent nai (pan flute) part that manages to keep cheese at bay (Gheorghe Zamfir this is not). Daniel Neagoe is way too prolific for his own good so it's nice to hear him hit the bull's eye for once.

Outburn Magazine is returning to the print format. As someone who likes actual magazines, I approve of this and will likely subscribe.

Yeah! It's 'pay what you like', so you can't go wrong really. I've never attended Roadburn, sadly, but line-up wise it's always pretty much perfect.
