i was kinda underwhelmed by the album after how much i liked "assimilation". certainly not bad or anything just not anything to be excited by either

thanks to the whole st. vincent stuff I had a dream I did an absolutely awful interview with her in which I screwed up to an extent that there was open hostility

Xpost: ditto “assimilation” was even better than the album version but the rest of the remixes leave me lukewarm. I still think it’s a great remix album but I wouldn’t play it over the original.

Kingdom of Machines works in a very different way to KoE. I'd say it's at least as good.

We Are The Law bears little relation to ML, it's a completely new and great track. I'm a little burnt out on ML tbh.

It's still "in print" digitally via Echo, who otherwise seem to only release physical material for Record Store Day, with BMGCAT instead of ECH cat #s, and then only of things that were on Warner, not Echo or any of their previous owners. Seems unlikely she'd have any sway in getting them to even press up 400 copies on "splatter vinyl" for RSD 2022.

ha yes, that did read very New Relationship Energy. though she did release three-and-a-half hours of music by Parrot in the last year; I assume he's well aware that she she values him and his work.

yeah it doesn't read negative towards parrot or anything, just that working with koze more is really exciting her because his approach is so different to what she did last with parrot. there are plenty of interviews where she's filled with praise for parrot and sounds just as excited about working with him
