Hopefully Dermot D is lurking and sees it's so bad we're getting 'plucky' zings from Hibees.

He might turn out to be a very good player one day but 11.5 million for a wing back who can't cross a ball is not too shabby. Watch us squander it on two or three haddies though.

Story gets weirder, from his younger brother, Alti's wiki page:
Chapman Pincher alleged that Atli was the owner of certain documents that might add further weight to the case against Roger Hollis, that Hollis was a Russian spy at the head of MI-5 in the UK.[8] As Pincher, who died in 2014, stated "I have been unable to extract a copy of the interrogation report from Atli", p. 603. The interrogation report was alleged by Pincher to have been written by his deceased father, Evald Mikson.

I used to work for Shuggie back in the early 90s, he owned a hotel up the west coast, and once held a warm-up event for the World's Strongest Man in the village park with all the strongmen staying in his hotel. Somewhere in my parents' house, there is a photo of me being lifted by Magnus ver Magnusson while Shuggie laughs in the background. That was one of the weirder turns that my life took.

Am nicking that phrase, say thanks to your dad from me!
Can't exactly say I'm lamenting the departure of Lawwell, but I hope the new guy pisses off the other side as much:
Lawwell was a massive part of the treatment Rangers received in 2012. Forcibly made sure we were crushed. He had his tentacles into everything and everyone. He is a cancer to the Scottish game and a bully who has held a dark cloud over chairman, SPFL and others.Good Riddance— MacGerrard ☕️ (@MacGerrard_) January 29, 2021
(Replies also contain hilarious revisionism over the end of the 2007/8 season)
― ailsa, Friday, 29 January 2021 17:22 (three years ago) link
cleaning house at the end of the season makes sense. a shame that the science of the management of football clubs doesn't really exist. in north american sports there's a real stress on the "front office" and all that that entails, and people get fired a lot more often for not doing a good job. it almost feels churlish to be mad at lawwell when he has presided over a lot of success, but the ronny deila and lennon appointments were dire, and there is always the feeling that significant things like bringing in the rat rodgers always come from desmond
― Dusty Benelux (jim in vancouver), Friday, 29 January 2021 18:22 (three years ago) link
also of course the success when rangers weren't in the top division shouldn't be asterisked and you can only beat what's in front of you etc. but really any cunt could have presided over success in those years
― Dusty Benelux (jim in vancouver), Friday, 29 January 2021 18:28 (three years ago) link

just seems a ludicrous situation. they obviously decided months ago he was to be here til the end of the season - probably didn't fancy paying him off - and they wouldn't bother their arse looking at anyone else in the interim. eventually they somehow came to the conclusion they couldnt keep the circus going any longer, but just bringing in JK as interim manager seems like a waste of time? it also brings the worrying thought: if JK does well in the remainder of the season will they appoint him on a permanent basis. wouldn't put it past them!

Yeah, ridiculous for it to be bunged away on Premier Sports. Well done, had fully intended to try and track it down somehow but, um, didn't (after having a good whinge about the Premier Sports bollocks on Twitter this morning)
― ailsa, Sunday, 28 February 2021 19:01 (three years ago) link
I'd paid for Premier Sports last month for the semi-final last month and let it roll over for the final. Annoyingly when I cancelled it after they offered me three months for £5.99, maybe I should have done that last week!
I'd say no-one missed too much not seeing the game; it was hard fought and I thought we played decently when we had more of the ball but Livi didn't offer much. The semi-final against Hibs was a much better watch.
― hamicle, Sunday, 28 February 2021 19:14 (three years ago) link
Yes, well done St Johnstone, even though you put out St Mirren in the semis.
