cleaning house at the end of the season makes sense. a shame that the science of the management of football clubs doesn't really exist. in north american sports there's a real stress on the "front office" and all that that entails, and people get fired a lot more often for not doing a good job. it almost feels churlish to be mad at lawwell when he has presided over a lot of success, but the ronny deila and lennon appointments were dire, and there is always the feeling that significant things like bringing in the rat rodgers always come from desmond

also of course the success when rangers weren't in the top division shouldn't be asterisked and you can only beat what's in front of you etc. but really any cunt could have presided over success in those years
