i thought someone volunteered to do it on the "there should be an ILM poll" thread?

I suggested it there but was more intending to throw it out there, I’m not able to run it.

i could do it. Not gonna let it not happen like. But let's give it a month or two. In the meantime I'll try and sort out what should be eligible as i think this would be thornier than most of these polls (eg, Pitchfork's list of 10 tracks includes a bootleg remix off of "Sadevillain" that features a verse better/clearer than its official release). Is that kind of thing the poll volunteer's call? I've followed a few of these things but only taken part once.

yeah you're right. I'll take this on sometime after the 2020 poll if a more qualified pollsperson doesn't. Might need help getting all of the features listed.

nah it's a bootleg. And although it turns out Doom was sorta bootlegging himself with those "Missing Notebook" tracks that made it out, I would want to include those.

That nyt podcast wasnt bad. Dante Ross was the best. Bobbito talked too much about fondle em. Caramanica kept talking about dooms textures, which is right, but it's also about the weird rhythms, the off, rza ish sense of timing. Like a much looser prince Paul.

I can't be bothered with Popcast much but it was pretty informative. Keeping the subscription can come in handy.

That'd be great. I'm rusty with Photoshop but would be no problem sharing the load on rollout images if you did up the template.

the start of this thread is hilarious

listening to special herbs and spices, i forgot how good him and mf grimm were together. dooms beats during this period were absolutely fire. people focus on the more whimsical, quirky stuff, but he also had some absolutely volcanic bangers.

i never liked the vv albums cos the beats were boring/too standard underground rap. madvillainy worked cos madlibs beats are kinda undernourished/crumbling too though doom just has an altogether more dilapidated approach to beats which is why his own self produced material works best.

More incredible than the geedorah album? That album has such a fantastic set of beats .

The thing about Grimm is that Grimm also sounded kind of depressed as well as sinister which fit those beats so well

Poll's going to get started when the Todd Rundgren results rollout is done. It's everything but bootlegs. KMD, MF DOOM and all other aliases, all productions, features, herbs, blends, go nuts and I'll sort it out. Will link the poll here when it's up!

man I can't remember most of his titles. One of those artists whose albums I just play and the titles don't matter a damn.

There won't be an exhaustive list of what's eligible. Good resources I've found for stray tracks are Genius and RYM.

New album with Czarface, apparently was a delayed release cuz Covid. On first listen I like it more than the last one, much better production. Whole thing is like 25 minutes.
