What is the preference for voting?

Would you prefer voting to open next weekend or wait until the big ilm eoy poll rollout is finished which will allow proper attention to metal poll without distraction of big poll?

Either option works for me, especially since I won't be voting in the main poll this year.

So yeah, tell us your preferences and we'll schedule accordingly.

We cant compete with enthusiasm for the big polls so I think we should try leaving voting until after main poll so it gets full attention. As most only vote in the last week I think a 2 week period for voting would suffice.

Those who wish to campaign for albums could still do so in a separate thread for it. Might even help get more metal and adjacent into big poll.

So the question really is, would you like a campaign thread now so people can 'study listen' to nominations or leave it for the 2 week voting thread which starts after the big album poll rollout?

I’d be interested in seeing a campaigning thread now to study! And voting after the main poll is customary, right? Always good to discover some new metal in January.

It does give time for late releases in 2020 time to sink in and get past the initial listens to see if it still stands up.

Poll always ran in december but we changed it a few years back for the above reasons but voting usually was open before big poll voting opened but results were after big poll.

I think having voting period after big poll rollout allows 100% concentration on it. Lets see if it helps turn out.

I'll start a campaign thread tonight then, with a link to the spotify playlist that simon helpfully massively expanded.

Im playing catch up on albums now anyway and im sure its the same for a lot of you so why wait for voting period to start it.
