Yeah, mine's basically a kitchen scale. I took it thinking I'd use it just for coffee beans (and still do), but it's perfect for small packages.

is it just me or are entire stores consistently removing/reposting their entire inventory on here? I look at "new items for sale on my wantlist" and 75% of it is stuff I've seen before from the exact same sellers. pretty annoying because a lot of these items are at non-serious prices

it's absolutely the worst and basically ruins the function of the wantlist. i wish there were a way to block sellers who relist their inventory every day

yeah I couldn't figure out if this was the sellers or if discogs was doing this automatically somehow. seems like it would be remarkably easy for them to prevent.

Unless you're buying multiple items a week, the wantlist in its current form is basically useless and shit.

Other than "blocking sellers" (which they apparently just won't allow, maybe for valid reasons) it's difficult to see a technical solution. It would have to go through some heuristic gymnastics to try and distinguish a relisted item from a genuine new listing. Even if that could be made to work it would likely add a significant processing overhead to each listing.

Their automatic postage calculation sucks. Countless times it has gotten it wrong. And then people didnt want to pay extra. Argh. Was so much better before.

i'm wanting to purchase some regular ass old catalogue titles on cd and i think that discogs might not be my most cost effective option. i know there was a topic posted for sharing places to shop online for these kinds of things but i am having a hard time locating that topic — little help?

idk it shouldn't be that difficult to tell if an item that's being added is identical to one that was recently listed

I do wish you could block sellers though, there's one in particular (KUPIKU) who has half of my wantlist at 3-5x the average price and they relist their entire stock every other day

In addition to blocking sellers who list their damn stock every day, often at exorbitant prices, I do wish you could also filter your wishlist by country, especially now that the postal service is fucked and I rarely, if ever, order anything from overseas. I'd say over two-thirds of my wishlist is in foreign currency and I just scroll right past

Has anybody written any browser extensions to do this stuff, since Discogs themselves won't do it? The search filter aspects at least should be doable that way.

The daily email update is just a reminder, it serves no real purpose except to make it more likely you might miss something. Assuming you can access a browser you can just check the Items I Want page any time you like.

lol oh geez. I got a copy of Aladdin Sane a few weeks ago where the ostensibly VG+ sleeve has a bunch of brown stains and water damaged inserts :-( I really don’t mind ring wear/shelf wear etc but stains etc is a dealbreaker

not discogs but on ebay the other day i almost pulled the trigger on something billed as VG+, until i happened to scan through the sellers explanation of his grading scale, which also included VG++, NM--(wtf?), NM-, NM, NM+, M-, and M. no other explanation for such inanity other than just straight up trying to scam people.

good news is you can generally Elmer's glue something like that back together, not sure if it's gonna hold but I guess we'll find out. and the record itself sounds pretty good, hard to ask for more from a $15 VdGG album

double sided tape is good to fix split sleeve ime

Oh, yes I've used gentle kid's paper / craft glue very sparingly and left to dry with some pressure applied for a few hours to put sleeves back together successfully.
