1st ballot lil bastard hall of fame
is he definitely retiring? if he's feeling good he could still go out there and run pick and roll for some team for 10 minutes a night.

Jimmy Butler to ESPN's Rachel Nichols on James Harden, "There’s a lot of stuff always in the media. I think that he's a hell of player. I like the group we have. To tell you the truth, I just want the guy to be happy. That’s what life is about. That's what the game is about."— Ira Winderman (@IraHeatBeat) December 10, 2020

The espn rankings have lillard above Jokic. I just can’t fathom that
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 11 December 2020 01:30 (three years ago) link
lillard's play last winter and during the seeding games was legit historic and he'll regress from that but idk man, lillard was pretty good last year!
― Clay, Friday, 11 December 2020 01:40 (three years ago) link
i don't know how they're doing this list and what they're weighting but lillard's spot seems reasonable. a little surprised at where AD landed.

xp did you find the stuff about how the local celtics media (one of the friendliest out there among teams with actual fans) was so mean to him and that’s why he doesn’t want to talk?
― call all destroyer, Friday, 11 December 2020 18:07 (three years ago) link
no lol i mean its obvs not hard to understand why anyone wouldnt want to deal w the media but you have to its part of the job you cant fight them you will lose and you certainly cant call them pawns just say everyone played hard it was a good team win and hire a publicist for other stuff

xp Jarrett Allen seems on an inevitable path to getting traded for some other vet buddy of these guys. Unless the front office stands up to KD & Kyrie, which lol

ffs Windhorst is behind the paywall too. Has that been the case for awhile? They really don't want anyone to visit espn dot com who doesn't have their stupid subscription

"I pray we utilize the 'fine money' for the marginalized communities in need, especially seeing where our world is presently," Irving wrote. "[I am] here for Peace, Love, and Greatness. So stop distracting me and my team, and appreciate the Art. We move different over here... I do not talk to Pawns. My attention is worth more."
ok when I first read the Kyrie quote I did not know that he had been fined. So I read 'fine money' as in like some damn fine money, as opposed to the lesser moneys out there. This makes no sense but the fact that that reading seemed to be of a piece with the rest of this borderline incoherent statement is very telling of where his head is at, i.e. outer space

DisneySuperMegaUltraCorp has fallen a few billion short of analysts' expectations for 2020 and whoever is the current Mr. Big who's CEO frowns when he sees the value of his stock options drop. Therefore, everything worth a look goes behind the paywall.
― Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Friday, 11 December 2020 19:20 (three years ago) link
As the NBPA executive committee Vice President Kyrie Irving assuredly knows, the fine money gets distributed to charities agreed upon by the NBA and... the NBPA each year https://t.co/dSwNt2NHfp— Zach Harper (@talkhoops) December 11, 2020

always hard to tell if Kyrie is making a point about the way people treat crazy celebrities or if he is actually a crazy celebrity. i suppose it's increasingly not important which is which. he is very good at basketball though.
