yeah it's pretty inarguable that he's more popular than he's ever been

tho it is true he just hasnt released a ton of music the last couple few years

I'm honestly a little grateful to have gotten a bit of a respite from new music from Thugger, from like 2015-2019 it was like a full-time job keeping up with him.

evol j otm, by the time BTG came out I was p satiated with him, but there's stuff from that absurdly productive period I prob still haven't heard

gunna's "dollaz on my head" and aminé's "compensating" are his guest verses most worth searching for this year imo

ooh, his spot on dababy's "blind" is nice too

I love that Megan song he's on but mostly just for the beat rather than anything Thug's bringing to the table

thug is def better generally on his own songs than features, you need the whole thug experience

he sounds good when bouncing back and forth with one of his sons (baby, gunna, keed), but agreed. he didn't really drop any of his own songs this year, tho

thug is wildly inconsistent but he has his moments

i did not like his last album even tho it 'worked' at what it needed to do, ie legitimized him as a star ... idk that i'd say he's "wildly inconsistent," he had periods of being extremely consistent... but there's a tendency to coast that i didn't really get from his peak period

tiny desk (gigantic mansion) concert

"tick tock" is really infectious

yeah it's super fun

it was an obvious highlight of his tiny desk from a few weeks back

always fun when he decides to remind people he can rap his ass off

I think this is his best album since 2015

Jeffrey was cool but definitely not the one. This new one sounds right.

Jeffrey is “fine.” Some pretty average tracks on it, generic flows from the era .. also was a noticeable step down from the previous year

Jeffery is my favourite album by him although I haven't really listened to much recently. This new one is really nice, kind of acoustic and soulful a bit like some of the moments on Beautiful Thugger Girls

I'm gonna guess he already has a good lawyer. But federal indictments aren't playing around.

whole thing is disgusting, total targeted criminalization of rap music. half the artists cited in the indictment are charged with rico and nothing else - literal guilt by association.

otm, really gross and ugly to see things going back to using rappers' lyrics as "evidence" in criminal charges.

from what i read of the indictment, the song lyrics and photos with gang signs are mostly used as evidence that ysl was operating "as a gang," which justified the RICO charges. they seem to have actual evidence of him doing things like giving permission to people to murder yfn lucci.

i have no idea how this will play out and it is very possible this is a case of an overzealous prosecutor. it does seem insane to me that someone like thug, an icon, would still be wrapped up in this type of crime.
