such an amazing album. in addition to the songs mentioned in the above post, i adore "lonely", and "wonder what she thinks of me", and "baby girl". and "tipsy" which is this darkly humorous, murderous, misandrist topsy-turvy thing. that pretty much does cover the field aside from the swae lee one, which isn't bad either.

lockdown performance highlights - do it on kimmel, ungodly hour at the vmas, everything they did on their tennis court.

It's amazing, the best album I've heard this year so far. "Forgive Me", "ROYL" and "Catch Up" are highlights for me and yeah it really works as an album, I wouldn't skip any tracks.

xp the tennis court performance was so goood!

also their take on Zhane's Sending My Love - the perfect choice of cover song <3 https://open.spotify.com/track/1KFHD2MK0wQADYddeed7Qf?si=gG0i6uzLS3aBQdRwNb6tyQ

Chloe's solo career begins with an incredible song and incredible video.

The video, and single cover art, are pretty hott stuff. (Not something I would normally comment upon; but I am a mere mortal, and damn…)

ha, of course – much better

Hearing the video had a lot of ass, I was worried she had gone full pop-trap music, but I like the song and this is actually closer to Tinashe sexiness (sonically) and visually... I guess it's not exactly tame but an ok balance on the arty-vulgar great axis.

chloe is obv a massive star and her performance on the song is great, but i really wish people would stop hiring murda beatz, his stuff is so rhythmically lifeless and bereft of melodic ideas. it’s to chloe’s credit that she makes it into something that resembles an actual song, not just a “wap” knockoff

video is amazing, tho, with no caveats

i like the song and hope she does well with it, tho i wouldn't call it that great + the beyonce influence/similarity is obvious. it's understandable given the mentorship but we already know that she is capable of much more distinctive work. that said she is a great performer and yes an enchanting *star*

dyl, Monday, 13 September 2021 14:21 (two years ago) link

I think the track is fine, but yeah not very distinctive. I prefer the CxH stuff - partly for (of course) the harmonies, but also some of the songwriting is on a higher level.

I think Treat Me is my favourite song of the year so far.

I think C x H were so much better together.

Nonhuman biologics enthusiast (morrisp), Saturday, 5 August 2023 22:29 (eight months ago) link

They were great together, but I think this (and In Pieces) are brilliant.
