insane if true
Sources around the league believe there is a “verbal agreement” between the Nets and Rockets that would bring James Harden to Brooklyn, and create a superteam with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.Story with @FOS: https://t.co/k0Gu3kDeaj— Anthony Puccio (@APOOCH) November 17, 2020

also the nets cant even put together a half decent offer for harden, are hardens people just telling every other team that hell be a huge bitch if they trade for him

speaking of having a thin roster. what would they actually have besides those three?

Former first team all nba-er Deandre Jordan and this year's round of vet minimum ring chasers presumably.

it's especially weird if ppl seem to believe that giannis is re-signing... all the 2021 cap hoarders will need to pivot

lol the celtics thing where after every big trade they leak that they were actually in on it too until the last minute is a good recurring comedy bit

the wizards would clearly win it seeing as they would be acquiring the player who isn't coming off of double bone spur removal/achilles tear surgery

interesting tone to some of this lesser tier reporting re the celtics...

While the Nets & Sixers are believed to be frontrunners for James Harden, Boston Celtics are making a late push for Harden. They are trying to flip Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward for picks and young assets that would appeal to Houston, frantically.— 👑📍Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, M.A. (@ScoopB) November 17, 2020

he was fine. more to the point is that you need line up flexibility in the playoffs. 5 man line ups look nice on paper but that's not how playoff series actually play out. the bucks last year had no moves to make beyond cycling thru wes matthews, donte divicenzo and george hill hoping someone could give them 5 positive minutes. you need 8 quality players to make it thru the playoffs.

they gotta hope they can get some half way playable cheap vets basically
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 18 November 2020 00:46 (three years ago) link
tho tbh their problems maybe be deeper than that
yeah i dunno seems like they should have been able to do it with giannis and middleton and other dudes, bledsoe was just a very wrong choice of other dude
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 18 November 2020 00:53 (three years ago) link
and now they're giving up on the concept of other dudes entirely
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 18 November 2020 00:54 (three years ago) link
everyone will just be like "well you can't blame them for doing it" & i guess ultimately that is true but building a roster as a hostage negotiation just isn't what successful franchises do, imo. the margins for them will be insanely thing -- hardcapped, legitimately only have 5 playable guys on their roster, no draft picks to use in trades. they're assuming full health and a near perfect run of signings on the minimum/buyout market
― J0rdan S., Wednesday, 18 November 2020 00:55 (three years ago) link

I can't tell my arse from my elbow with this draft - just crept up so quickly. Hope Spurs grab someone that can stretch the floor and be a plus on D.

Thanks, Call! Looks comprehensive - appreciate it! Will get up to speed for draft night.
Who do you like the look of?
On a side note - does anyone else think Suns should have been taken a bigger swing at Covington? The Chris Paul move seems very "win now" orientated and Cov seems like the most complementary piece available for that roster.
― knowing for certain the first touch of the light will finish you (fionnland), Wednesday, 18 November 2020 02:19 (three years ago) link
the suns arent done making moves is the talk here in phx.
― Spottie, Wednesday, 18 November 2020 02:31 (three years ago) link
i don't think phx could have responsibly beaten that very aggressive portland offer for covington. there are a lot of players who could help them, tho when they decided to execute the cp3 trade before using cap space my assumption was that they were planning to just bring back saric and maybe baynes. are there different rumors out there?
draftwise i don't go super deep but of the projected top 10 guys i feel like okongwu and halliburton have pretty high floors and will be good nba players. it's a scary draft to have a high pick.
